WRX eh ?

I was looking for a MP3 deck.. that was least 1, 2 months ago.. only AIWA had it, and AIWA's only available in states..
and I don't want to use those walkman type ones.. though they're so cheap, but i think i'd break them like what i did to my cd player

Aiwa's car mp3 player is still not shipping. Kenwood's got one shipping but it's twice the price...

There's always the EMPEG, but it's not really a great solution

Kenwood also have a mp3 player it is I think z919. I was looking for it awhile ago but they were all sold out and was going for about 1G. Only bad thing about it is that it does not have a removable face plate.

apparently, the Aiwa one is not that great, slow changing songs, and stuff like that
www.annandtech.com has a review of it somewhere

Thanks for the info guys, obviously there is not enough choice out there yet. Maybe best to invest in a CD burner instead for now !

Another alternative you might want to consider is a MiniDisc player. I had one in my last car and it was great. The downside is that you'd also have to buy a recorder (I bought a portable walkman so I could use it on the move as well)- but then for CDs you'd have to buy a burner anyway. However, on the plus side, they sound the same as MP3s, are more convienient and robust than CDs, and the discs are only $3.
A CD player came with my Impreza but I am seriously considering changing it for a MiniDisc unit.

Cheers,
Stef
