Has any one put components in thier car? I think its time for me to add some mid range and better tweets. How hard is it to take the door panels off? Any one have an idea of what the clearance is? I'll do some searching in the audio forum too.

I just ordered a gallon of eDead V3 from Elemental Designs, if any one wants to get some use code# edftw for %40 off on V3.

Thanks,

Cameron

From what I have heard, the doors are real straight forward. you remove the switches and just simply pull the panel pins out as you pull the panel. I have done speakers in all of my other cars in very low amounts of time. You should have no problem, just be careful not to crush any wires putting it all back together.

I need new door speakers, but my sub is making up for a lot.

I put components in mine. 6" 1/2 Alphasonik , I mounted my tweets in the A Pillars. Sound is great. The only hard part was wiring from the cab to the door. Subie's have a very small wire tube to pull through, you might want to mount your crossover's in under the dash instead of the doors.

Whats the mounting depth on your Alphasoniks? I'm thinking about going with CDT's or Rainbows if I can find some with a low enough mounting depth, I might have to do some fiberglassing on the door panels if not.

i highly highly reccomend iap thick spacers w/ the door panel spacer kit for any decent sized component. the front mount depth is barely over 1". with the thick spacers, you can size up to 6 1/2's also, which is well worth it. the speaker spacer is simple, but predrilled and the door panel spacer kit is longer trees for the speaker area to hold the panel out away from your nice new large drivers...

The door panels come off easy. I just installed some new 6.5's in front using some Kartboy spacers. Worked pretty nicely.

I now need a new head unit, though.

Thanks for the spacer info, that realy increases the mounting depth. Do I need the IAP Tweeter brackets or is there already a way to mount tweets since I have stock ones?

you can go to infinitysystems.com under product you'll find the fit guide. there you will find you depth. if you need a set of killer compenents let me know. i have some sick morel dotech 6's that are the best sounding speakers on the planet, not just my opinion.... but you can do anything you want on your doors. i am putting in morel hybrid ovations right now... like 900 dollar speakers that are amazing. let me know if you have any questions as this is what i do for a living.
