Cool Any heads-up or warning about kittens & cats ?

lol . this feels so funny because I never post in the off-topic forums . But I'm glad I get a chance to .

Do anyone has a personal experience with having/raising kittens and cats in the house ? any tips or warnings ?

I first got my daughter a boston terrier which was a very cute looking dog but he was way too active and I didnt have the time to give him so I gave him to my dad .

So my daughter recently started to get fond of my neighbor's cat and she's asking me if I can get her 2 kittens . I have a couple of friends that have house cats and it seems like all they do is just chill in the house , mind their own business and poop in the kitty litter .

is it that easy ?

let me know what you guys think .

thanks

Cats are quite easy to raise. They tend to be hyper as kittens and up until their 2nd or 3rd year, but then they mellow out quite a bit.

Going from a dog to a cat ought to be a bit of a break. Cats are much more independent and self sufficient than dogs. They don't need nearly as much attention, and can crap/pee in a box instead of having to go outside.

If you do have problems with them going outside the kitty litter box, which you shouldn't because of their dig, poop, and bury instincts.... put any poopies that they made in the kitty litter box so they know where to go and keep the litter in a common area for them. I'm sure this shouldn't be an issue.

That sort of behavior varies greatly from cat to car. Some go ape**** and tear stuff up, others, not so much. But to err on the side of caution, a scratching post is a good idea.

cats are easy. put food in the bowl, keep litter box clean, give it stuff to scratch, toss things in its general direction every now and then, thats about it.

One big thing is, if you have a basement or a garage, litter box goes there.

Also when you have more than one cat, have 1 more little box then there is cats, 2 cats 3 little boxes. It will tend to stop territorial disputes.

Male cats get them fixed as soon as they are old enough.

make it a habit to keep them off tables, they have bad bacteria on their feet and under their nails....nasty

Make sure if you or anyone else gets scratched, wash the wound asap... you can get really sick if it gets infected...

make sure you microwave the cat every night. it helps build their immune system. you know... to fight off disease. through radiation.

It never ceases to amaze me what amuses some of you Neanderthals. Let me guess, you're a fan of Saw and Hostel?

If not finding animal torture amusing can be deemed being up on a pedestal, so be it.

Sorry. I gotta agree with funker. Talking about killing animals, or people is lame. Like I posted in the other thread, you do realize that most serial killers start out by torturing and killing animals?
