Default A/C Expansion valve

So, my A/C has been dead since i bought my car about 6 months ago, and its 105 degrees where im at today. i HAVE to get it fixed.

Symptoms: Turn on A/C, compressor spins, fan blows, but i hear a hissing sound (must like a BPV or BOV in recirc mode) constantly while the A/C is running. The air is not cold, but not super hot, just about ambient outside temp. I had a buddy check it with his A/C system recharger, and the High pressure line stays normal, but after a second (the same time the air begins to blow hotter) the Low pressure line goes into vacuum. His idea was that there was a blockage somewhere, which was causing the line to go into vacuum. (DUH). But im not sure whether to check my A/C dryer first...??? or my Expansion valve (WAYY under the dash, PITA to get out)....??? or what should i check first???

Its a MY02 BLACK wagon, so its hotter than he!! right now.

PLEASE help!!

btw, ive searched for 20 mins for threads about this and cant find any answers. same questions as mine, but no answers.

thanks for your help.

-Brian

First thing to do would be verify you have the right amount of refridgerant in the system by evacuating and recharging. Start with the basics then go from there.
