OMGHi2U ATTN: nesic, chicagoland and NY otters...*the official OmahaDUI roadtrip thread*

Yes I am crazy, if you think that 6 days straight of road travel, watching baseball, and having the time of your life is crazy...stop reading now. The trek will start in Omaha Nebraska on Thursday September 27th and will end in Boston on Sunday September 30th on the final day of the regular season for baseball.
start em early...
Omaha to Chicago Thursday evening
need to crash in Chicago on Thursday night and then Friday evening head to the park and watch the Detroit tigers V the Chicago white sox. Tickets have been purchased, sitting on the third base side, just past the dugout.
RIGHT after the game(or maybe early) hit the road, and start the second leg of the trip.
Chicago to NYC for the mets V marlins afternoon game
arrive in NYC sometime mid morning, catch my buddy and head off to shea stadium to watch the mets take on the marlins in a day game. tickets already purchased, great spot in the lower bowl behind the mets dugout.

From there...this is were is gets tricky...The sox game is sunday afternoon.
NYC to Fenway park
the question about the last leg of this tour is do i head directly after the mets game to the Boston area, or should I stay overnight in NY, take the train in the morning, and get there in time for a fun afternoon at fenway park. I have Standing room only tickets, and this will be my first chance to get a tour of fenway park. is the tour worth it? should I skip it, take the train and party around the stadium all day? what time do I need to get there for SRO seats...early, and do they suck? last time I got a good spot but I had a buddy grabbing them for me. I would also LOVE to get better seats to the fenway game, so if anyone has hookups, or wants to attend with me, or wants to just meet up before or after the game let me know, I am down for a good time no matter what

I turn to NESIC for help there

why do I bring this to the attention of the OT?
because first of all who doesn't wanna sit down and have a beer with me and second....who's got an open couch in chicago and/or boston for a traveling baseball fan?

Photos, updates, and everything else will be posted in this thread

yo, I've got a spot in my house, about 15 miles north of Boston if you need a place to crash. I probably won't have a bed in the spare bedroom, but I have a large sectional you can share with my dog.

Why do they call it "Chicagoland"? It sounds like a theme park.

Because the area is huge around it. People say they are going to Chicago and really are going to Schaumburg...40 miles away.

Though you wouldn't like it here...we have Black people.

Right, that's why I live 4 miles from Chocolate City. Why not just say that you're going 40 miles outside of Chicago?

I am teasing.

People here move between teh burbs and the city a lot. The transit is fairly good so going into the city is easy, maybe that is why?

I have to be back at work by wednesday afternoon...so leaving boston/NY around tuesday morning is the goal. hell if i was smart I would just take a week off from thursday to thursday i guess.....then I could take my time getting back home.

none the less, I will not be in a hurry to go home after the sox game on sunday. I plan on being slightly intoxicated sunday night after the sox game

26 bucks on stubhub.com

grab one if you wanna come, I grabbed just one for 35ish shipping and everything. I'm more worried if I will be able to get in if I don't show up early.

this could be a GREAT game(late season close AL east mattering game) or it could be a forgone conclusion watching the pawntucket sox play(division/wildcard clenched or out of playoffs all together). hopefully the three stadiums I picked are going tp be sull of playoff teams, the redsox, tigers, and mets all postseason bound if they get thier **** together

I'd offer up the spare bedroom in my place if not for the fact that I am one of the OT black sheep and the fact that I'm a good 90 minute train ride from downtown.

I would def be down to hang out after the game in Boston or Monday.

Looks like it's a 2pm game, so there is plenty of time to go out and get plastered afterwards.

PS- UBurger in Kenmore Sq pre-game FTMFW!!

PPS- If you need somewhere else to stay, we have an extra bedroom.

That would be just a bit out of the way from Chicago to NYC. Interstate 80 the WHOLE way. Beep the horn when you drive by Scranton and I'll wave to you. Actually, I-80 is about 30 miles south of Scranton, but you'll see signs.
