Default Stock intercooler adequate?

I was wondering if anyone knew how well the stock STi intercooler holds up against a new turbo. (And yes, I know the fuel system needs to be upgraded, the ECU needs tweeking, etc etc.)http://www.fastwrx.com/detd20gtuup.html That's the one I've decided on, just wondering if it's a good idea to upgrade the intercooler at the same time?

You will definately want an upgraded intercooler. I would go front mount for that turbo.

If you want to take full advantage of that turbo get a fmic. I'm runing a green on a perrin tmic, it's a much cheaper option.

i think once you leave the vf series turbos and go bigger the top mounts just arent sufficient. just go big and get the perrin front mount. you wont be dissaponted

Not only that, but the more space you take up with the turbo, the harder it is to get the intercooler and y-pipe to harmonize with one another.

Cool, thanks for the input guys. I was thinking about getting the Perrin fmic anyway so that just pushes the idea, lol.

Just a suggestion, from what I have seen with locals here is that TurboXS makes equally as good equipment but with much better fitment.
