Question Blue Ridge Pearl availability in Canada

Ok. Here's the scoop. On the html site of www.wrx.ca, they list Blue Ridge Pearl as being available. On the flash site, it is not listed.

At my local dealer they state that only World Rally Blue is available in WRX form and that Blue Ridge is available in RS form.

Who has the real scoop?

Blue ridge pearl is available in Canada, along with rally blue. I saw the order specification and color code lists for the car.

The only color we wont be getting is the yellow.

I said it before, but I'll say it again:
A lot of people have been asking why Blaze Yellow is not going to be available in Canada. I talked to my brother who is a lawyer for Canadian Customs and he says that SOA is prohibited from importing into them into Canada due to NAFTA (the Free Trade agreement between USA/Canada/Mexico). He quoted me the following section:

HQ 957188
February 9, 1995
CLA-2 CO:R:C:M 957188 KCC
CATEGORY: Classification
TARIFF NO.: 8544.30
RE: Exterior Paint Colors; automotive good; Article 509; NAFTA
3. Exterior paint colors classifiable under subheading 8544.49.00, HTSUS, are imported into Canada from a NAFTA territory by UTA under subheading 8544.30.00, HTSUS. We are asked to assume that the exterior paint colors, imported into Canada are not an "ugly yellow."

If you really MUST HAVE one of these STI pretenders then you could always go down to the states and bring one up, paying all the taxes to bring it across the border. Or wait a couple of years until the real STI is released so you got the 'go' to back up that 'show'.

Angry

WTH?!?!?!

Then how do we get Vette's and other "imported" cars with extreme colors into Canada?

If this is the case, that's absolute BS!!!

It's true, I've come across this before. A similar regulation prevented the 1995 Merlot Miata from coming in to Canada. Ottawa didn't quote the entire regulation, however. If a colour is shown to be related to a brand or otherwise identified with a car, it can be allowed. Thus Subaru should be able to bring in Blaze Yellow as part of an STi package because it is a recognized STi colour and part of the brand. Since the early WRXs are not STi models, this was obviously blocked by customs.

Note that there's no specification of "extreme" colours, only "ugly". My Golf is Jazz Blue, a poke-you-in-the-eye blue that's definitely extreme. The Vette is welcome here - but no ugly yellows will be let in without proper cause.

Has anybody in Canada been able to order a BRP WRX? I want to know if it's available for sure before I go and change my order.
