Default Morbid but serious question.

My Aunt was recently diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. They wont tell her how long she has to live. Her 50th B-day is this weekend and I'm not sure what to get her. I'm pretty sure the standard black card of death and gag gift is not appropriate. Any idea's? Thanks.

They wont tell her, or they can't tell her? I've never heard of such a thing as "wont tell."

Get her some flowers.

Take bets on which lasts longer.

Ok ok ok, I'm sorry. That was uncalled for. Seriously, get her something nice, but put your time and energy into a really nice card where you tell her what she means to you and how much you care about her and appreciate her.

But don't make it so long she doesn't have time to finish it.

I'm sorry! I can't help myself

an 8 ball (not the one you play pool with), a rental Ferrari, the book Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and a young Mexican boy to massage her worries away...

at least if I was dying of terminal brain cancer, that is what I would want...excpet switch the Mexican boy for a Ukranian girl...

Find out what place she has always wanted to vacation to and have your family pitch in to make it happen. When my friend was dying of cancer, he traveled to a lot of places that he wanted to see.

Time is the most precious gift you could give her.

Are you close to her? Is she otherwise in decent physical condition? Give her a full day of your time. Take her to breakfast, lunch and dinner. Go for a walk in the park. Go ice skating. Go fly a kite. Figure out the simple things in life she enjoys and go do that.

That will mean way more to her than any card or flowers.

Giving the gift of an experience trumps any material item in this situation.

Heroin. I'm pretty sure everyone wants to know what that high is like at least once in their lives. When I'm ready to go, I'm chasing the dragon on my way out.

take a day off and go some where with her,

spa? pedicure? nails? massage?

that would probably mean more than any material gift you can give her
