Post Winnipeg Dealer

I was just curious to all those people from Winnipeg that bought Subaru's form the only dealership as to what the thought of there experience there. Good/Bad, otherwise. They are the only one in town so it kinda makes things difficult.

Heya. Me and my good friend each have put down a deposit for WRX's. I 've got a WR Blue one and he's got a white one.

Not much to really talk about. They are nice guys. Talk to Ron Edgar and Monique. They're not trying to jerk you around. What did you really want to know about them?

Check out www.zucru.com to keep up on what we're doing in Wpg.

No everything seems fair. They aren't exactly gouging anybody. I put a grand down.
Then again, they said they aren't allocated that many in the first place.
Are you considering getting one?

Yes I am strongly considering one, however I am peacekeeping in Bosnia right now and won't be back until Mar 29th. I don't want to have my girlfriend put $1000 down without talking to the dealer or making sure that I can get the finances.

It's a refundable deposit. Subject to pricing and test drive of the car. You've still got lots of time.

Deposit is $1000.

What color are you thinking about? I know there will be mine (WRB), my buddy Kev's (white) and somebody else.

Thanks for the info. So what your saying is that $1000 will reserve a WRX. Do you have to give then the options/packages/colours etc, or can I just reserve one and sort out the rest of the particulars when I'm back in the country? Most of the colours are awesome. I reallylike the Sedona Red Pearl but since I'm going for the sedan version I guess I'm outta luck. So I think I'm going with either the silver or the Blue Ridge Pearl.

We are getting sedans and wagons in wpg. The ones we ordered were sedans. Which zucru forum did you read it in?

I think you do have to specify color when you put down the deposit. In terms of options, you can do that afterwards.

I found that info under Car Hole - Subaru Impreza WRX. Someone else listed that to lease would be as high as $650, but when I was looking at a 300M ($42,000 before tax) I got him down to $580 for 5 years with $2000 down. That $650 seems a little high. Have you talked to the dealer about finacning in any capacity? You said that the $1000 was refundable correrect?

Hey ZuWrx, in addition to my last question, what is a turbo timer?

Unhappy

Is it true that Winnipeg is only getting wagons. I read this in the forum in www.zurcu.com Are you saying I won't be able to order the sedan?

I'll jump in and answer that for you Newbie.

A turbo timer just let's you automate the shutting down of your engine after a certain period of time. You need to do this with turbos to keep circulating the oil around as the turbo is hot. Not a big deal to go without one, just have the patients to wait a minute or two after you park. And with a timer you need to leave your manual tranny in neutral.

You don't even need a turbo to have a timer. I still have my timer in my car, and its still functional, that is, I still have it working. Though naturally its not on for as long, but come summer when I start driving the car hard at the track it'll come in handy.

Newbie: That post in the forum was done by a 17 year old who wanted to lease an RS MY01.

Instead of a Turbo timer, you could always just use a remote starter. That is you can just use the starter when you have arrived at your destination and let it run it's course. Basically does the same thing, but maybe for a longer period time, unless you can change the length of time the starter stays on.

And the deposit is refundable.

Thanks for all the info. Another question you may be able to answer is whether the dealership has there own personal e-mail that I could write to so I'm not bother you guys so much. Also I was reading in another forum about a search option that would scan for topics previously discussed so you wouldn't be asking the same questions. Which I am unfortunately going to do and ask why the sedan doesn't come in red and what kind of blue is the WRX shown with the new light covers on the home page? Thanks, hope I'm not bothering too many people out there.

Newbie, Frontier's email:frontier@gatewest.net

Don't worry about asking too many questions. That's what this forum is for. I have no idea what's going on with sedona red. Again, the Sedona Red is available on the www.wrx.ca flash site, but is not available on the html site.

What's up with that?

If you're talking about the blue on the i club page with the headlight conversion, it is a WR Blue I believe.

I had my girlfriend call the other day and she asked if the sedan came in Sedona red and they told her that it does, so she is going to put a deposit down for me Sat for one in red. Can't wait.

To ZuWRX, I'm pretty out of the loop being over in Bosnia so I have no idea about a lot of the details that go on. I really only know the colour I want and some of the options. Which leads me to another point and that is I have know idea as to what all the options are. Is the filter worth it? I would also like to get 16" BBS wheels but I don't know the cost. I've read that the 17" are $3000 American. I'll let you know more though and if we can hook up that would be great.

Sorry. The filter I was referring to was part of the air system that filtered out pollen and other things. Why are you waiting an extra 30 days? If you don't mind me asking what options did you ask for and what, if any kind of deal did you strike up?

The 17'' BBS wheels are $4200 cdn dollars. It's on one of the forums here as some i club members went to the Toronto auto show. That's pretty steep if you ask me.

Which filter are you talking about?

I'm looking at taking delivery in November. The car should be here in Oct and I know I'll be itching to take it, but I'll wait the extra 30 days. Grrrr.
