PP6, MAP sensor / wideband. questions ?
Background:
2001 RS custom turbo kit running a TD04, with a large topmount, 650cc 5th injector, WRX fuel pump, AEM wideband, and a PP6 running the whole thing. On to the questions So here is the deal, My friends RS had a PP6 wired up using the ignition setup not the crank trigger. The car has been running well at4-5 psi, but we want to up the boost to 7-8 or more. The stock ECU does not like anything over 5psi as it maxes out the voltage on the stock MAP sensor. So we purchased the rallitek 2.5 bar map sensor. Now here is the issue I am running into. As I understand it the yellow wire "signal out" on the MAP sensor should wire into the brown wire on the PP6 which was originally wired into cars TPS "throttle position sensor" this controls your deflection in the PP6 mapping system. So this means your now tuning based on vacuum and boost levels instead of throttle position. Now at this point I am a little stuck because the map sensor does not seem to be putting out voltage or at least not enough to read on the deflection scale. Is there some way to calibrate the MAP sensor or is it suppose to just start working? As of now the PP6 is only reading on the RPM scale and remains on the left hand side of the deflection scale, which basically preventing me from tuning so we had to turn the boost back down to something the stock ECU / Map sensor can handle. So onto the next question. While I was in wiring the MAP sensor I decide to wire in the AEM wide band so we can have some useful AFR's when data logging. Now again as I understand it the PP6 does not really use this input for anything but it does allow the user to use it for logging and sepoints. So with this in mind I pulled the brown and yellow wire off the rear 02 sensor input for the main ECU and wired it into the 1-5 volt analog output on the AEM wideband. This should start displaying my AFR correct? I assume the PP6 does the conversion from volts to AFR. Well it does not read correctly, the AFR gauge will read say 12-15 and PP6 will read 11.4 then jump to say 26. Now I think this may be the fault of the wideband controller and perhaps it needs to be configured for the PP6. I also may have the wide band wired in completely wrong. So the question at hand is did I wire it in right or is there another input I should splice it into? So that was a lot to put down. Thank you for any responses info and recommendations.
