Default Gauge installed; not hitting Stage 1 target boost

Hi Everyone,

I just installed my Omori boost gauge (electrical) and went out to check if I was hitting the target boost, ~14.7 psi +/- 0.5, but only achieving ~11-12psi. The car is completely stock with only a catback. I've reflashed to Stage 1 cal map. Following the installation instructions, I disconnected the neg terminal, and used the plastic 3 way connector with the restrictor pill leading to the gauge. Installation was completely checked over for leaks and at idle, the vacum reads 16-18 in/hg without A/C.

After the gauge installation, I went out to an open road to do a few WOT pulls, and can only achieve ~ 12psi max in 3rd gear. I know that the ECU will need time to relearn, so is this the case as well or is there something else I should check? I've read from the Cobb website that if I'm not achieving target boost, that I may need to tighten the wastegate accuator arm, is this absolutely necessary?

Also, for those who have installed the Omori boost gauge, did you use the clear 3 way connector or did you use the metal T fitting that was provided?

TIA
-Jeff

Have you checked the Accuracy of your boost gauge compared to the Accessport? I would reccomend doing that to be sure your boost numbers are consisitant with what the car is actually seeing.

Also, I would reccomend checking your boost in 4th gear, not 3rd. 3rd gear typically does not provide enough load for the car to actually reach full boost.

Please let me know what kind of results you have after trying these two things.

Update:

On the way home from work yesterday, I decided to do a 4th gear pull. Sure enough the boost got up to 13-14 psi. I think I just wasn't giving it enough gas after the gauge installation. Plus gas is expensive nowadays....all is good. I will verify again when I plug in the AP to see live boost.

It also can learn to run a bit more boost.

Also, extremely high temps can lower boost as-well.

It sounds like you'll be fine.
