Default Track Day - Calabogie Motorsports Park Sept. 29th

Hi everyone. Just a heads up for all you track junkies out there…

3BallsRacing is a Track Group based in Michigan, but when we heard about Calabogie opening up last year, we wanted to take a road trip to the great white north! (Plus I'm Canadian, so I'm a bit partial )

Here's the quick Details
Where: Calabogie Motorsports Park, east track
When: Saturday, September 29th - 9am to 5pm (2hrs track time min)
What: Open Track Day - 15 cars on Track max (nice and open!)
Who: You!
Why: Like I really have to write something here....

If you not familer with how our events run, we run 4 groups based on Experience and your car, and we typically run 20min sessions. In addition, for the Beginner groups we have a classroom session at the start of the day while the A and B groups (experienced/inter) go on track first thing at 9:00am.

We also have a limited number of instructors for free, and they are on a first come first serve basis. They will go for rides with you, or take you out with them in their cars. (2 corvettes, Subie, Prelude, Mustang notchback, Lotus 7, GTO, 300ZX, and maybe a few more…)

A pizza lunch is provided also for free, and water and gatoraid is available all day long. Also free!

Race gas available at the track, we have a tow vehicle is case someone goes into the sand, 15 cars on track at once max (60 cars allowed to register) and we have flag people at all needed corners!

Cost $175USD

Register at http://www.3BallsRacing.com Click register under events tab, or hit the link on the right of the page. You will need to register on the site before you can register for the event. This is so we can send mass emails to the participents that are registered for the track day.

Hope you guys can make it out!

Check the site for photo's of our past events in Michigan

2 days would be nice, but only the Saturday is ours. Saturday is the best day anyways. We'll probably camp out Friday before the track, and Saturday night after the track in Calabogie. Should be a great time!

Tempting. Great chance to do this track twice in one year - 10 hour drive tho...

Racer's maxim: Wait till you see god, then brake.
Corollary: When you see god, count to three, then brake.

I don't have the co-jones to lift and turn at the downhill at Lime Rock

BTW, that "Bomb in there" line was Bruce Allen's. It somehow got attributed to me, especially after Dan Giuliano flipped out at NHIS. Something something brown guy something bombs...

The key is to not let the fact that you're bouncing and sliding sideways bother you. Stay on that gas and look way down track.

......and I don't believe that Bruce line for a minute. I've been in the car with you. Although KFoote says you've calmed down over the last couple years, I don't know if I believe him......

You pissed off Dan G??? That must have taken some work! You know how they say "don't scare the instructors"? When I asked Dan if I could go out with the advanced group (to go home early) he stearnly looked at me and said "don't terrorize the students".

Oh Jeez

btw- I wouldnt want to make that tow again for just 1 day, 3 days at $150 a day Id consider.... 3 hauls to canada this year is enough for me. On top of that theres nothing else to do up there... Dont get me wrong its well worth the trip at a fantastic facility, its just a literal pita to get there and back.

I'm thinking about it, but Sept. 29 is kinda far away to commit to at this point.

I've become Suresh. I seem to do all the SCDA events and have yet to get to anything else. Already been to NHIS and Lime Rock. I forgot to open an "anyone going to LRP with SCDA" for some reason. More Lotus' there than Miatas!

There's no way in hell i would drive that far for 4 sessions at calabogie. Nevermind tow. If it was open track all day i would think about it, but those days are rare.

I'm surprised you're into this raj. I'm usually up for anything but this makes me tired and grumpy just thinking about it.

Just to clarify, you'll get 5-6 maybe 7 sessions. 5 for sure, the 6th or 7th is usually when people leave after 2-3pm, then we'll combine groups to give everyone more track time. We've had people stay out for 3 sessions in a row.

Basically, we're very laid back, and when people leave, we let others in similer run groups (speed/experience) fill up the spots on track to give max track time.

Hope that helps!

Well, 15 cars on track is an insurance thing, so we have to stick to that. What some people do is sign up if they think they will be attending, and pay in a month or so when it gets closer. (It is still a ways away) But if you sign up, We hope you are actully planning on attending, not just saving a spot just in case... know what I mean...

All Flaggers will be provided, no need to work anything, just eat the pizza we bring you guys at lunch

If you're doing 5-6 sessions, I'm definitely interested. I'm quitting track after this year and Calabogie is fun enough for me to hit one more time
