Legacy 93 Legacy sedan struts/springs

Question:
A friend of mine has a 1993 Legacy turbo sedan. He would like to upgrade his struts and springs. Are the newer model struts and springs interchangeable? If not, any ideas?

they'll fit but may require rear camber bolts and some slotting of the upper rear body bolt holes. just stay away from 05+ sti gear, major slotting required.

so far, i've put 07 sti suspension on my rex, 02 wrx suspension on my 99 forester, and 04 wrx suspension on a 95 impreza l. they all fit without too much trouble.

yeah good point. 2000 and up legacy is way different in the rear. i'm not even sure if the 95-99 legacy stuff will work.

basically it comes down to this, the 93+ impreza was based on the 90-94 legacy chassis, so stick with impreza suspension.

I'm planning on using 99 outback wagon strut assembly's on my 91 turbo. Make sure you get the tophats, springs, struts, everything, because you usually have to puzzle things together. the >95 forrester stuff will work too, but doesn't have as much travel, but then again I'm lifting my car. For lowering that legacy, you could take anything off of 02-03 wrx and it may work with >04 wrx stuff too. look here for some guidance... http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?t=22419
