Default What is the widest tire that will fit stock 07 TR Wheels

Just like the title says:

What is the absolute widest tire size I can put on my 07 WRX TR's stock wheels. I am having problems with traction at the track, and I want to go a bit wider and get some more meat on the road. So how big can I go and what is my best bang for the buck?

I've seen 245/40 v710s on a WRX setup for autocross.

245 is way too wide for a 7" wide wheel. Maybe stuffing it on there for Autox, but not for a daily driver. I'd suggest 225/45/17.

245 on 7" wide rim would have too much flex. 225 is tops; as already mentioned.

235 is still too wide for 7" width... 225 is the max!

IMO, you should get rid that HEAVY stock wheels & get a set of lighter & wider wheels.

ya like what... 21-22 lbs?

find some light wheels
i mean even some 98-01 rs rims would be a great improvement for a track set/tires

sure only 225 would fit but it clears the brakes, and is 16-16.5 lbs a wheel

RPF1 is the best bang for the buck!!

15.6lb each, 17x8, fits up to 245 to spec (even 255, not recomended however)

around $1000 from tirerack shipped
