Post SUBARU CROSSES CANADA WITH TEST DRIVE CLINICS

For the first time ever, Subaru Canada, Inc. is holding test drive clinics across Canada in order to give driving enthusiasts the chance to experience both the turbo-charged 2002 Impreza WRX, and the Outback 3.0 H6-VDC.

The WRX, which is just beginning to appear in Canadian dealerships, was developed using the technology and experience that took Impreza to three consecutive World Rally Championships for Manufacturers.

The Outback 3.0 H6-VDC (for Vehicle Dynamics Control) is powered by the six-cylinder engine Subaru fans have demanded, and enhanced by an advanced stability system that Subaru is billing as "the ultimate" in All-Wheel Drive control.

In a sales-free environment, drivers attending the clinics will receive the inside story on Subaru technology from the manufacturer's product experts, performance driving coaching from one of Canada's top driving instructors, and have the chance to drive the cars.

In addition, enthusiasts signing up for the WRX clinic will ride through a simulated rally course with a professional driver or experienced rally expert, and those assessing the Outback H6 will have the opportunity to test drive the vehicle against top competitors.

A barbecue lunch is included and drivers interested in participating should contact their closest Subaru dealer for more details and to register. A complete list of dealers is available at www.subaru.ca.

The cities and dates of these driving events are:

· Québec City - April 21 and 22
· Montréal - April 28 and 29
· Toronto - May 5 and 6
· Ottawa - May 12
· Calgary - May 19 and 20
· Vancouver - May 26 and 27

Damnit, why do they have to do it on the weekend of the Rocky Rally. I think I'm going to the Subaru event instead of the rally now.

Hmm... so this is why SOC approached us..

Oh well, it looks like the cat is out of the bag now.

The Subaru Club of Toronto (www.toronto-subaru-club.com) will be attending the WRX test drive clinic on the 5th and 6th of May. SOC has asked us at the club to put together a list of 30 participants for this event, and it's already pretty much full!

That makes me mad. Since when does "Across Canada" stop in Quebec? There are four other provinces past Quebec, and we like Scoobies too. Bring that damn thing to Halifax, if nothing else!!!

RE: Dates

Yup, pretty darn silly to schedule the Calgary and Vancouver clinics on two rally weekends! It looks like I'll miss both western test drives since rallying comes first <aarrggh!>

Big Horn Rally May 19-20
Rocky Mtn Rally May 26-27

...well that's the way I received the Press Release from Subaru Canada, so there

Jaimak,

SOC also contacted our club (ottawa) and the Montreal club concerning the test drive day.

Good thumbs up on their program...

Sorry, but over here on this club we abide by the rules set forth by the Imprezidents. SOC or not, rules are rules.

Matt,

They're only taking 30 spots. In Ottawa, we only have the Saturday as a test day.

Yesterday, I sent an email to the club mailing list and I talked to Ogilvie. They said they had some spots left over but very few.

In the club, I think were about 5-6 going for sure (including myself). I don't know the details of where it going to be and the finer points (how many cars there will be etc...

Should be a fun day...

Robin

Robin,
I got an email from my Subaru dealer about that clinic. I reserved a spot as well, hopefully, the only WRX I'll be test driving will be mine...

Should be fun anyway!

Boooo!

No test clinics for the Praries. I guess that's what we get for being in the middle of nowhere.

As usual, Winter-peg, the city that is too big to be forgotten and too small to be recognized is given the shaft. Oh well. Guess I'll have to settle for next year's ice events or take a trip to Gimli.

Ya, that is very nice of Subaru Canada of offering that.. Over here, in montreal , like it was mention, we got 2 days of testing.. The MTL Sub Club have 30 places to go at the test drive. (30 places for 115 members).. It was really nice of SOC to offer all those places..

Hehe, another good point to join the Club if you did not join yet and you are in the Montreal region.

Later guys
