Cool Picked up a new STI, saying hello

Just picked up a new 07 STI today, been lurking for a couple months around NASIOC but only posted a couple times in the newbie section. Some of you might remember I went on a cruise out to Girdwood with some of you about a month ago. I was the sucker on the motorcycle. Picked her up today with 7mi on it, didn't really want the black one so I decided to wait until they got this Urban Gray one in. This one had way more options than the black one as it turns out. Came with the short-throw, subwoofer, shock sensor, home-link (as if I will ever use it) and the boost gauge. I'm not really sold on the boost gauge, its mounted on the left side of the steering column so my arm blocks my view of it while driving, I could have sworn they were mounted on the right. Guess my first question is anyone know how simple it would be to put it on the other side? Its no big deal but might as well if its a simple fix.

I had a corvette last year (99 convertible) and was tired of watching it sit in the garage next to my street bike and dirt bike, hard enough putting miles on those things as it is.... I took alot of **** buying the "4-banger" as most of the motorheads I know drive vettes or cobras etc. but as far as first day impressions go I am much more pleased with this car than I was with the vette, hopefully I won't be replacing door lock relays like I did on the vette. As for my friends, we will see who's laughing when it starts to frost up.

Well anyway here are some pics.... first mod is going to be winter tires... then ...who knows?

Well, nevermind about the pics.... don't have enough replies ... have 3 need 8, so you guys give me a few replies and I will post the pics up pronto.

Hope to be active on the boards and make it to as many "events" as possible. Would love to do some auto-crossing (seems like it would be fun) so with luck I'll be able to make time for that. Thanks for reading,

Cheers,
Eric

nm about the boost gauge questions, was looking through some paperwork... boost gauge installs on the right side only on 04 and older models.

Is it the number of replies, or the number of posts you yourself have made in any forums other than the OT section? I can't remember anymore.

Ah, well OK, should be able to fix that soon! It says legitimate, so I better be careful. I don't want the ban stick!

I'm sure the other late nighters can help out too. Speaking of which, you should go post in the late nighters thread crash!

Your first mod is winter tires? It's July, you should have some time for that later?

Welcome! I think you'll like your new car. I had vettes for many years and they're great, but it's hard to beat a wrx or sti for a daily driver in Alaska.

On the boost gauge, another alternative would be to install aftermarket gauges (typically boost, egt, oil temp) somewhere else, like the dash clock location or the a-pillar. You can then sell your factory boost gauge to someone else...

Yeah, get an aftermarket boost gauge. The factory one reads in 'bars' where as the aftermarket ones read in 'psi'

Aftermarket mounts anywhere. If you like cheap and accurate Prosport is a value.
