Post Mitsubishi in Canada

I just found a clip in my local newspaper, the Wpg. Sun that Mitsubishi intends to open up 50+ dealerships in Canada by 2003.

Does this mean we shall see an evo in Canada?

Only an entry level Lancer for now. But things may change by that time (hopefully). But I'd still take the reliability of a Subaru over a Mitsubishi I think, just from reading around...

Anybody remember Mitsubishi's 2.6L? I've seen lots of blown 2.0L turbos! They make lots of nice stuff(cars too!), but they also make some stuff with questionable reliability. I'd have to say that Mits probably has the poorest quality of the Japanese carmakers. My 2 cents.

I'll believe it when I see it. they had a booth set up at the vancouver auto show about 4 years ago with a bunch of US spec mitsu, and was taking order for cars saying they would be opening dealers within a year. I'm still waiting for my topless eclipes.

A few years ago they planned on coming t Canada but sale slipped big time in the US so they decided to concentrate maintaining their business there before expanding.
