Know Anything about the White 2002 WRX @ United Auto Sales

Drove by today and spotted a White 02 Wrx. From looking at it theres been some shady repainting done as well as a black spoiler and hoodscoop. The car has 57k on it, but other than that looks pretty respectiable. Anyone have more information on it?

Oh, the dealers asking 14.5k for it, a bit steep but I'm going to see if they will come down.

Good luck with that one. I'm sure you know, but i would be very suspect about an obvious cover up. crappy repaint. It could have bent frame, reconstructed title, all kinds of crap. I was stiffed 5 years ago. I bought a honda prelude, the car looked like it just rolled off the assembly line. It was used with 11k miles. 1 year later i try to trade it in and up on the carfax comes a major front end collision. they lied to me and would do nothing. Good luck man.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I'm going to call the dealer tomorrow about the 02 and see what the details are. I'm going to head over to Affordable now to take a look at that STI.

Get us a VIN and let me (Jake) or Mavrik(Phil) run for past history at our shop and check for recalls. If you are still interested have the selling dealer run a carfax on the car on their dime.

i dont see how bug eyes are so expensive up here! You can get them for 10 grand down in texas.. I guess its just the market up here.. My buddy got a 04 w/ 71k miles, stage 2 for 12k.. not a single thing wrong with it lol wonder how much that would have gone for up here..

Yeah i'd be worried about the paint job..
I was told mine had no wrecks, and about 3 months after i buy the car, i find some rough spots in the paint, did a carfax and sure enough, collision!

I was thinking the same thing too about the paint. However if there is some damage I could maybe get them to bring the price down. I'm not looking to build a show car by any means... this ones going to be getting some 'Battle Damage'.

Having long winters boosts the main value of an AWD performance car. That and it's alaska...everything is more expensive

i know that u want a bugeye, but i know someone who popped their motor in their 04 might be selling with mods for 11k.

I was thinking somewhere around the range of 11.5k since its got shoddy paint repair to the front and passanger side of the car. Lets see what I can get out of them.

I called the dealer, they said that the paint respray was from a dent that needed to be removed... It sounds fishy, but the car may be coming into conti for a inspection.

There's a 02 wrb down here in Kodiak. HKS Turbo back, defi gauges, tint, tein S springs, new paint job, new clutch (Exedy stage 1), stock turbo (never been taken out), cusco rear sway bar and black aftermarket rims with a crome lip finish. They're asking 15K though. I would not buy that car for more than 11,500. It's been rallied hard when the last owner owned it.

Prolly be taking it in this Saturday for a inspection. It drove ok, needs a alignment pretty bad.

On another note the dealer states that the whole cars been repainted, he couldnt specify if the color was a match or not, is there a way that I could tell.

door jams under the hood vin number if you know how to decode it will tell you the orginal paint color but if the repainted the whole car why did they leave the scoop and spoiler black?
