ok...i've search here and on enginuity and openecu and could fine the answer...so..
...just bought an openport cable...i have everything pluged where they're suppose to...but it wont let me do anything with the ecu...(reading from...load to...test load...etc..)...at the bottom of ecuflash screen...no vehicle interface... and it won't let me log with enginuity too...only com port3 shows up...no other choices...i'm sure there someone out there that can help...

IIRC you have to install the drivers for the cable, then the comm ports will become available. when you first plug in the cable it will detect the device, then you click ok for it to find the drivers for the device automatically. that was for xp though I have no idea how vista does that stuff. good luck.

did you install ECUflash to get the driver on your system? I'm running vista w/ ECUflash & Enginuity and it works great. You can't just plug the cable in, install enginuity and call it a day. I'd research the whole openecu option.. Seeing as you havent even researched enough to know to install ecuflash, you might need to learn a thing or 2 about the program. Search my friend.. It will do you more good in the end!

Yah took me a bit to realize i had to load the drivers myself, but wasn't to bad. Just be patient, feel free to ask more questions if ya can't find it searching. Good luck!!

My Vista laptop came with the Serial ports disabled, when the laptop is booting up hit F2 go into BIOS and make sure your serial ports are enabled. Else its the drivers.
