Post review on jc sports intake

ok guys i got my intake yesterday(Thursday) and put in today. the installation went pretty quick. all parts were included. done it in less than 30 mins. to save time i disconnected the battery while i worked on the intake to let the ECU to reset. the alarm didn't go off but the trip ODO reset and the clock so i supposed it reset. i idled it for about 30 mins, turned it off and and back on and done. time to go for a drive.

performance of this intake is amazing. i never though that there would be this much gain from just a intake. no low end loss. well actually i think i gained some. car pulls much harder. more power through the complete powerband. mid and top end the intake makes the car real loud and i mean loud. i even set off someone else's car alarm testing how fast it can accelerate. i haven't gone for a top speed run yet. but will tomorrow if the back roads are clear. so far i really like this intake. jc sports makes great intakes. I'm really impressed with it so far. for those of you that are looking for more power and a noise maker this is the intake for you. easy bolt on power. it sure beats my old stock setup with K&N airfilter.

Thumbs up

Ya, I had a PDM Racing intake for awhile before schlong8 stole it to go with his 2.25" exhaust

I found that the breathing of the stock air-tract is fairly restrictive and the PDM intake made a noticable diff in the upper end and how it sounded.

Congrats on the purchase.

i seen a pic of the pdm intake before. it looks like larry's but with bigger tubing. it looks like a good intake too. for some reason i like the look of the cone style intake. my next step is to build a heat shield for the intake. HKscooby jack can hook you up with one. his i-club name is GTBGUY. you should PM him. he heads jc sports in calgary i think.

HKscooby - inpreza kid got the from JC Sports Canada.

inpreza kid - glad you enjoy the intake! It'll definately help decrease the acceleration time differences between auto and 5spd.

The tranny shifts around 6000rpm now when i floor the gas. before it shifted around 5000rpm max. did i mention i have a auto.

Heehee, same here!! I have an auto with jc intake+safc. The intake is loud as hell, and the car gian a lot from it!!

For the shifting, stock shift at 5000 when you floor it, now it won't even shift at 6000 if i floor it, go figure

HKscooby the sound of the intake is very deep. the guy at the audio shop though i had pipes on my car. the intake doesn't make very much noise at all if your easy on the gas pedal. the noise comes when you step on the gas and go WOT or passing cars on the highway. one of my friends siad it sounds like one of thoes race cars when i floor the gas. trust me you have to get one for yourself. its hard to explain how it sounds like. i can tell you it sounds sweet. it can set off car alarms when your around 5500rpm. gives your car good power gains too. i can talk over it no problem and have my cd player on at the same time.

For the top speed run infact i just did one yesterday night. on a back road it was all clear so i floored it. it climbed to 180 pretty quick from there it kept getting faster and faster. i couldn't tell how fast it was going because needle was burried. rpm was around 5400. i'm guessing around 200-210. i have no idea but it was still going faster. i kind of got scared and slowed down to the speed limit. i can tell you top speed improved lots. over all the intake is well worth the money. it also comes with a reuseable K&N style areospeed airfilter.
