There have been many updates but none for the 98 RS. The pre late-99 ECUs can't be reflashed through the OBDII port. The later RSs have not really been supported yet in Enginuity although it will be coming at some point.

Open source reflashing of the stock WRX and STI ECUs. Check Enginuity.org. Like ECUTek and Cobb AP Streettuner but FREE!!!!

o cool..... so you think it will be coming soon ?

I actualy have NO idea how a reflash works...

would it be a better option than say the emanage ultimate ?

how would I control timing and A/F with the reflash ?

I wouldn't hold my breath for it. The early ECUs have a much different architecture. Some of the pre-98 ECUs in other parts of the world were capable of being socketed for chip replacement....but not much in the way of manipulating the ROM other than that.

No, the pre-99 stuff can't be reflashed. However, the later NA ECUs will be supported at some point in the near future.

Basically a reflash allows you to tune the car for almost any mod using the stock ECU.

The only NA Subarus that can be flashed with the OpenEcu tools are the 05+ DBW models.
