Ive been searching on here all day and have come to the conclusion they will bolt straight onto the front, but I will need to modify the rear top mounts to get it to fit. Will I need to modify they hub mountings at all?

Looking at putting 2005 WRX complete strut/spring top hat take offs on my 98 Forester.
Thanks, Jason

98-08 foresters can only use 04 and earlier impreza struts because in 2005 impreza's changed to a 5x114.3 bolt pattern from 5x100. foresters did not change their 5x100 bolt pattern until 2009.

On 08+ STI's, what is the most negative front camber you can run with stock tophats up front on co's? I have KW V3's coming, and honestly am fine with -1.5-2 camber up front, and avoid spending the extra $$ if I don't need to buy camber plates. Thoughts from any 08+ owners or those that may know?

Hey Matt thanks for the reply, is that just the Impreza STI that changed bolt pattern? It looks like the Impreza WRX kept 5x100 right up until at least 2008 according to my searching.
I hope they fit as I've just paid for them!!! ARRRGH

Maybe your right, but i researched and went for the STI's because i wanted a little added performance. i hope you aren't disappointed with your choice and that everything works out!

Default They fit

Shocks arrived today, they came off a 2005 WRX Wagon from the breakers. They are of the inverted type compared to the right way up on the old Forester Shocks. Took about 20 minutes to do each wheel, changed ou the old Forester stuff and the WRX shocks were a perfect fit.

did a search and couldn't find anything. i'm trying to find out whether or not STi Springs and KYG Struts will fit on a 2000 Subary Legacy Blitzen. I found some on sale for $150 and figured i would ask if it was worth it. i'm pretty much new, and limited on my knowledge. any help would be greatly appreciated.

can you please tell me if kyb agx struts ( 733010, 733011, 734006 and 734007) will fit impreza 1999, wagon, N/A
from what i understand from the first posts all 93-01 struts will fit any 93-01 impreza, but i want to make sure.
I tried to check with kyb techsupport and they told me they can't find a match betwen my oem struts part no, and agx struts....
On Kyb catalog i can find AGX for impreza turbo, but they say nothing about non-turbo imprezas;
I'm almost certain agx will fit my car but i would like a confirmation from you guys.
thanks

Thank you so much for this useful tool! I have been looking for suspension upgrades for my Subaru for a while now, and this makes it a whole lot easier to find what I need.

Default i have a question about lowering springs..

the stock 06 sti struts are good. the cobb lowering springs are a replacement for the factory springs. have you heard anything about cobb lowering springs?

Same as 2004 STi, except for:

Struts

The only struts that will fit are Ohlins Fixed Perch Struts and STi Version 9 OEM or STi Version 9 Arai Pink Struts.

Coilovers

Only coilovers specific to 05+ STi will fit.

Strut Bars

Front strut bars for 04-05 STi fit the 06-07 STi but with some difficulty regarding the AC lines. There are a few 06-07 STi specific front strut bars.

All rear strut bars from any 02-07 Impreza fit.

Other

Only Lateral Links specific to 05+ STi will fit.

2005-2007 Impreza STi and 2006 Impreza use the same steering rack bushings, all other applications will not fit.

Hey, hard to search through thread so sorry if it has been covered. But it says 08+ sti shocks cannot fit up front. Does that mean they will work on the rear?

I have a set of Blitz ZR coilovers for the STI but need something for my 08+ wrx...
Anyone know how to modify it to fit?

will 06 wrx s tein springs work for 06 sti? sorry for the noob question. I looked up the part numbers for them and the 06 sti had a part number of sks66-aub00, and a wrx with a part number of sks60-aub00. Would there be any effects as far as drivibility? Thanks.

yes they will bolt right up to the rear,
to mate it up to the front you must either get an sti knuckle, get a new lower bracket for your coilover or chop everything up and do some welding. which isn't reccommended at all

I'm pretty sure that no, you'll also need to swap your front axles for sti axles because the splines in the sti hubs are different. This then creates a problem at the other end of the axle as some 5-speeds have stubs and some have pockets. Remember, also, that the axles from different years are different lengths.

For me, I'm just hoping that I can put GR front sti axles onto a 2011 wrx transmission. Then I can move my GR sti hubs and OEM shocks over to a new 2011 wrx and install MSI racing hubs on my sti.

Excellent write up!
I have on question though, will an energy suspension master bushing kit for Impreza/Forester 2003-2004 work for a 1999 2.5RS/GC8 (JDM WRX)?
Part #1918101
I haven't read through all 12 pages, just the section that applies to my car. Thanks for any help offered

I've searched and searched, but haven't had luck finding the answer to my question. I think THIS post quoted above does answer the question. Here's my question anyway:

I have a 2011 Impreza 2.5i wagon. She is soft and I would like to put WRX shocks/springs on the car to firm her up a bit. It looks like the 2010 WRX shocks/springs should fit; the only difference that I can find is a wider rear track on the 2010 WRX vs my 2011 "RS."

Will the 2010 WRX suspension fit? I suspect the wider rear track of the 2010 means slightly different suspension mount locations on the swingarms vs the 2011. If not, I could be in business!

Thanks for the help.

The 2010 WRX suspension is also SOFTEE FREEZE left out in the sun ! Forget it, it wont be an improvement over your 2.5I. GTWORX has a sport shock/spring combo tha t fits on your car fine and would be a HUGE improvement over even the STI shocks.

GD has strut front and rear with a motion ratio close to 1/1

GR has strut front and shock rear(multilink rear) with close to 1/1 front but .85 ish rear( dont quote me).

GR front is shorter by .50 inch and has close to same droop travel as GDk but less bump travel.

GR rear is shocks and have super limited travel but has less distance to work in and needs less to work in due to the multilink rear design.

Simply put.....GR's turn in BETTER than the even older GC chassis !

Avg GD front caster on an 04 STI with ALL the mods one cad do is 5.5-6.0 MAXED.

STOCK.. GR front caster is 6.0 ! So camber plates, ALK and a few tricks and you can yawn at 7.0+ caster on the 08+ STI(WRX).

The single group of buyers who got screwed werew 07 STI owners with some reported as low as 3.0 front caster!

I know you didnt ask for all of that but there it is.
