No problem, glad to help. Next thing on the list IMO would be swaybars front and rear and maybe a few bushings (ALK and steering rack bushings at least).

Turn In Concepts and Racecomp Engineering are 2 very good suspension shops.

right. you'll need 04-07 strut mounts for the rear from a WRX or STI and the scooby921 spacer available from turn-in-concepts.

ok thanks. im not trying to second guess u because i dont know a damn thing about suspensions but im probly going to buy new sti strut mounts for the rear, new wrx ones for the front and new wrx struts this weekend hopefully and look for a set of low mile sti springs. but i am going with kyb Gr-2/excel-g struts for the car instead of those monroe ones from advanced auto i told you about before. those KYB struts are decent ones in ur opinion?

Do 08+ STI struts fit on 08+ WRX's? It looks like most aftermarket manufacturers list the same part numbers for the fronts for both the STI and the WRX, but list different part numbers for the rear.

What is the difference?

I also see that TireRack lists the same part number for the Bilstein coilovers for the 08+ WRX as the STI, part #48-155830

I'd really like to buy a set of Ohlins DFV coilovers (part #SUS MI10), but Ohlins only lists WRX specific fitment.

I see BC racing (I'd never buy these, just using them for refernce) lists the same part number for the front struts for the WRX and the STI, but lists a different part number for the rear.

I've read the compatibility statements on the first page of this thread stating that struts and coiloovers won't fit between the STI and other models, but I am seeing these contradictions.

If anyone has any insight, I'd be very grateful.

Default 93-01 springs on 02?

Quote:
Springs

Any 93-03 Impreza spring will fit.

It's best to use 93-01 specific springs.

Does this mean that 93-01 springs will fit my 02? (I want new rally springs, I've only been able to find the Tein G Tech for 93-01)
Why is it best to use 93-01 specific springs?

also if not what is a good recommended aftermarket strut lowering spring combo that's not too pricey to the point of where i might as well buy coils. Not a real rough ride as i do drive it daily

no - it's the fitment of the front strut to the knuckle that is different

Will they work in reverse? Sti coils on wrx?

I thought everything was interchangeable.

Hmm I've seen some guys use sti coilovers or shocks/springs combo on wrx's. They said no modifications.

Nope. 2004 STI struts and shocks are fine on a 2002-2007 WRX, but otherwise it ain't happening easily.

Springs are a different story.

Question... May be dumb, but I'll ask anyway...

For the 08 WRX, the details say only 08 WRX specific shocks/struts will fit. Since most of this car was based on the 05 Legacy GT, would the shocks from the LGT work on the 08 WRX?

I've been looking at pics of installation on the LGT, and the shocks look the same. I think the brake line clips are different, but I haven't looked closely. Any ideas?
