will 98-02 forester struts fit a 03-08?

i hear people lowering the 98-02 with just wrx suspension. and it bolts in other than the rear top hat.

i noticed companies sell the 98-02 struts alot cheaper and i figured they are the same.

but i will ask a knowledge based forum first.

thanks

Has anyone used the eibach pro-kit lowering springs on an 06 wrx limited in just the front with stock struts? Curious to see if it will work, instead of lowering the whole car.

Hey guys i have an 03 wrx im running into a little issue and im clueless as of now what can it be...

Before i used to rock the stock wrx suspension whit lowered spring and it was great the springs broke so had to replace...

So i changed them whit an version 8 suspension but the front was sitting way higher then the rear so i changed the version 8 suspension in the rear to the v9 and did no difference...

So what I'd like to do is get the front to sit lower whitout using coilovers (kinda stiff) any suggestions?

Thanks.

Well FWD back struts, will fit and you can't quickly exchange on horizontal links to add a back swaybar. That delivers me, to my next factor which is most, of the mature S designs did not have a back swaybar so horizontal links, and supports would have to be changed on.

Has there been any definitive answer on the differences in 2008-2011 WRX and STI swaybars? Is it a different geometry or is the WRX bar just too short? And if so, how much shorter?

Hey guys!
So it says on here;

"Swaybars and Swaybar mounts/bushings
Not sure on turbo/non-turbo front swaybar compatibility. Probably are not interchangeable though.
Only 2008 Impreza specific front and rear swaybars will fit.
Strut Bars
Only 2008 Impreza specific front and rear strut/shock tower bars will fit."

Not really specifying on the different trim levels.
So will aftermarket parts meant for 2010 WRX/STI fit my 2010 2.5i?? Been looking through this forum for a few days now and still unable to find a straight yes or no answer. I appreciate all the replies. Cant wait to start ordering and upgrade my suspension.

I am considering a complete JDM V9 suspension conversion to 2002 WRX wagon. I understand I am going to end up with a wider track but will everything bolt up. I guess what I am asking is, "are the mounting points the same on the older wagon chassis as on the newer sedan chassis?"
Your research on this subject is amazing. Thanks msspag

2006 wrx aluminum control arms on my 2006 2.5i? I noticed that the wrx arms are a one hole design for the endlinks while my stock is 2?

Actually I do'nt think so.

JDM V9 would be similar to 2005 STI. So you'd have problems due to different spacing on the front hubs.

You'd probably want a different swaybar but I'm not sure.

Like it says the front swaybar probably won't fit.

Front struts will not fit.

Springs will be way too stiff unless you get Konis or something.

08+ imprezas have a specific swaybar that fits. Available from whiteline or rallitek. I heard from a few people that they modified the wrx swaybar to fit bit I wouldn't recommend it.

Any 08-14 wrx/STI strut tower bar will fit.

As andyroo said, the front struts from a STI will not fit without modification to the knuckle location. However any 08-14 wrx suspension part will fit (I.e. Oem/aftermarket struts/coils, bushings, bracing-except h braces, etc.)

Pm for more info if needed.

I have a question that I have been trying to find the answer to for a few days now by comparing part numbers and searching, but my question is,Will the front control arms from a GC fit on an 03 WRX wagon? What about wagon control arms from 02-07, are they all the same?

Yes and yes.

GC and GG (GD wagon) control arms have the same dimensions.
