It's info pieced together from the board here.

We already know that the 08/09 STi' use a different front clevis just like previous models which means no transfer to the WRX body. We also know that the 09 WRX spring rate was increased substantially and by what BIGSKY has shared is pretty darn close to the stock STi rates. The STi springs should lower somewhere around 10mm, so a little under a half inch.

Very cool thread. If I may suggest, add fitment regarding 91-94 Turbo Legacys.

Any idea whether pre-08 camber plates will work on an 08?

They won't work. 08+ use the same front plates as Legacy.

They'll physically fit, but i think they'd be much too stiff for the crappy 08 strut.

So...now I know that the 08 STi springs will work on an 09 WRX.

I did it, and the result was minimal, as the STi fronts drop it maybe .4 and the rears did nothing. Spring rates on the STi's are 1# more than the WRX's

As soon as I can (afford), I am going to contact Myles and buy a set of the KW variant 3's.

So you confirmed what I said basically. About a 10mm drop with no real increase in spring rate.

Havent been able to find the right info.

Are sedan front springs from any year slightly lower than say an 06' wagon factory front? (my car 06 WRX wagon)

I went back to stock springs but kept all the happy turning suspension parts on the car i.e. sways, bracing, bushings, endlinks, etc. etc.,,,

I would like to lower my front end only a 1/2" or so, to even out the look and not give me higher spring rates than stock.

Anyone...

Anyone know what options I have for swaybars for my 08 2.5i waggin? Looking to pick some up before autocrossing next month.

Do swaybars made for a WRX fit? If so, what brands are available? Adjustability is a big plus.

Thanks to anyone who can help

Forester basically works like a WRX. The 5x100 knuckles will work with the 02-07 WRX stuff, and the 04 STI stuff.

I would check on sf.org to be sure.

I don't think any OEM spring exists that will do that for you. Sorry.

The rears will fit. Front turbo swaybars probably will not.

I know its been covered that '08 STI suspension does not work on an 08-09 WRX, but can anyone say why exactly? I have my stock STI suspension just laying around and it would be great if I could adapt it to my uncle's WRX.

Frank

edit *nevermind* - held my '08 sti struts next to the wrx suspension and the difference is obvious- the clevis on the STI is ~30mm wide, while the wrx is 22-24mm. No way is that working...

It's the front struts that do not fit. Same with the old GD cars with 5x100 and 5x114 hub fitment differences.

It's not really an improvement over the 09 WRX suspension anyway.

Well, if you happen to know someone that wants to trade their '09 wrx suspension, have them give me a call

But in all seriousness, how big is the difference? I mean, can I use camber bolts to fix the included angle, or is the offset just too much?

Swaybar post:
"02-07 Impreza RS require a specific sway bar to clear the non-turbo headers. WRX and STi front swaybars will not fit an RS."

by RS do you mean the 2.5i? I'm having a hard time finding a front swaybar for my car that will fit.

Yes. RS == 2.5i

RS almost always means non-turbo on the boards
