Any updates for STB's and swaybars for the 08+ 2.5i and/or Outback Sport?

i just bought a set of used KYB AGX adjustable struts with Prodrive springs and Group N strut tops... this came off a 2002wrx... just to be clear after reading the articles... i would need to get the spacers for the rear struts only for a proper non-knocking fitment right?

all this suspension talk has really confused me... and yes i'm a complete suspension n00b.

if they are completely assembled (struts, springs, tophats) then you don't need anything, they will bolt right in

it's only when you're mixing 04-07 springs/tophats with 02-03 struts that you need the spacers

Will a stock FSB from 02 fit on a 06 WRX? Also, is there a size difference on the stock FSB's from 02 and 06? TIA.

Does a 25mm Perrin Adjustable Front Sway Bar fit a 2005 wrx wagon with Perrin Wagon end links? I've heard it works with the right set of shims, provided with the end links.

They should swap fine, but no difference in size from 02 WRX and 06 WRX for the front bar.

Hi Guys,

I need a little help here. I read all FAQ but cannot find exact scenario. I have 06 Impreza RS and recently bought stock 05 STI spring (version 9) off craiglists. I want to know if the spring will work with my stock struts without any modification?

Thanks,

Yes, the STI take-off springs will directly swap with your stock springs.

So I just upgraded my 04 wagon wheels to 17x7.5 enkeis. During installation I noticed my RF strut seems to be leaking oil, so I already have another mod to perform. I am looking at upgrading to an STI spring/strut setup, but it seems they don't even make them for my wagon. Am I wrong? Keep in mind my car is a daily driver, I am a spirited driver, and I prefer function over form. I am not looking to lower (at least to the point where function is sacridiced). Please help with an STI setup that is 04 wagon specific.

04-07 wrx you said that oem sti springs fit without problems. what about jdm pinks? think you should include that too. love this thread haha. if you had products down that would be even better help but dreadfully long to do.
(sorry if this had been said before, didnt read through all the pages yet)

it's right there in post #3 - they will fit but are a bit too stiff for the WRX dampers

Quote:
Springs

Springs for 04-07 RS or WRX will fit.

Aftermarket springs designed for Impreza STi will be too stiff for stock struts. OEM STi springs work well though.

2004 STi front sways and GD N/A wagon front sways are the same length. The STi bar does have a slight angle to the mounting tabs which is not there on the wagon bar.

I am currently running the '07 wagon front sway with '04 STi control arms. End links are vertical at stock N/A ride height.

Struts

The following have a specific fitment for 04-07 WRX and RS, and all spring and strut top fitment with these is the same as it is for the stock struts.

1. Koni Inserts (not a complete strut, see here for install http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1219607)
2. Ohlins Fixed Perch Struts
3. STi Version 8 OEM (2004 USDM STi)
4. STi Version 8 Arai Pink Struts

The following OEM and aftermarket struts for 02-03 Impreza can work in 2 ways.

1. KYB AGX
2. KYB GR2
3. Koni Inserts (there is an 04+ specific version too, so you can just get that)
4. Tokico HP
5. Tokico D-SPEC
6. STi/SPT Version 7

Either by using 02-03 springs and 02-03 rear strut top mounts.

OR

By using 04+ style springs, 04+ style rear strut top mounts, and the Scooby921 strut spacer. Details on why the spacer is needed available here:
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=563382

Scooby921 Strut Spacer available here:
http://www.turninconcepts.com/produc...=234&osCsid=d9

05+ STi struts will not fit.

Wagons are different, see notes below.
The GR2s now have 04+ rear fitment available. Part numbers 334359 & 334358.

You can note the difference in the photo here...

"2002-2007 2.5RS, TS, and 2.5i strut tops are softer then both WRX and STi strut tops (which are the same stiffness). confirmed?"

Has this been confirmed? The reason I ask is because I have 05 top hats from an RS which I plan on using with my rce wagon springs and 04-07 koni inserts using my 02 housings.

Has it been confirmed yet that any front/rear strut tower bars made for 02-07 Impreza will fit on a 93-01 Impreza yet?

Nice post. Didn't read all 9 pages but the strut bars will not fit from an 02-07 to a 97-01.

Anyone know if this will fit on a GF:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Subar...Q5fAccessories

They advertise it and say it fits any 93-01 Impreza or 98-08 Forester but it looks exactly like the ones they make for 02-06 WRX's which don't fit on our cars. The very picture they have for it shows it with a WRX motor. I have even gone as far as sending a message to the seller asking him if it will fit my 99 Impreza and he said it will although it does not sound like he know's what he is talking about. So just wanted to make sure and run this by you guys just in the off chance that they are making these strut bars for our cars now. Let me know. Thanks, Dan

Soo...

According to this thread 05 STi springs will not work on a 93-01 Impreza.
However has anyone actually tried it if they change the rear strut mounts?

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!
=)
