Unhappy Power steering problem

I now have a strange power steering problem. It all happened today while doing a few quick axis spins in a snowy parking lot. When I stopped I thought I stalled because it was hard to turn the wheel but realized the car was running. Well the power steering works while the engine is reving up around 2k. It works fine while reving in neutral even. If I am leaking fluid I cant tell. There is no puddles under my car but my fluid level might have gone down a little bit but that might be the engine at diffrent temps.

I have read about loose power steering lines but I dont see anything leaking.

Any ideas!?

You say it feels fine when you are revving the engine?

I believe the WRX has (I can't remember the exact term) assisted power steering. Could be something wrong with it.

I would say take it to the dealer but don't tell them you were screwing off.

Wow, that sounds exactly like what i did!! I starved my pump doing donuts in the snow. It was replaced under warranty and yours should be too. The reason the steering becomes easier when you rev it is because the pump is coming up to speed to overcome the loss of fluid. It will get worse over time, making low speed manuevering really crappy, ie parking. I'd take it to the dealer and claim it just started to mess up!

Thats exactly what I plan on doing. It wasnt like I was beating on it too hard or anything....

Think its a big enough problem to have them flat bed it?

Thanks
