Default Clinging noise under the car? Something loose?

Earlier today I started my car, as I reversed outta the driveway and onto the street I put the car in D. As I started rolling forward slowly I heard from weird clinging noise coming from under the car. I pulled over and looked to see if some was dangling or loose, saw nothing. and i drove some more I continue to hear the clinging sound. as I go over bumps, and bumpy terrain I hear it more but tends to go away at a constant speed, say 35 -40mph. I had my friend jack up the car and looked to see if anything was loose, didnt see anything. So we came to the conclusion that something internally is loose.

what could be wrong with my car? i plan on calling subaru and have them go over it.

my car is a 06 WRX ltd auto w/ 10k miles, all stock, never beaten.

I have a slightly similar situation. As soon as I start forward I heard a very slight "cling-cling". Sort of a metal tapping but it is gone after that. It sounds like it is coming from the left front area around the wheel. At first I thought it might be a stone in the tire or possibly a nail but nothing is there. The best you can do is isolate the area and do some manual pushing and pulling to try and reproduce the noise.

whats gay is that i went to my subaru dealership, have someboyd drive my car for 20 minutes and couldnt replicate the noise. so they told me that when the noise comes on persistantly i should go back. so as i started leaving the dealership and into the freeway the noise came back. if it is the heatshield, how easy is it to tighten it?

I'd also check the spring bolts, if you've modded your exhaust. Mine are a little loose and as a result i hear some "cling"ing. Mostly at idle, or if I rev when not in gear. Makes the most noise when I do that, and the rpm's start dropping

Pads prematurely wearing out and the indicators/screamers going off?

I'm not sure if this applies but I heard a similar noise and my check engine light came on, so I took it to the dealership and my front Cat went out. This is on a 2006 Subaru WRX STI

Endlinks are very easy... you will need two 14mm wrenches. One open to hold everything in place and another to screw it in (if you have torque wrench, set it to 40, otherwise get it as tight as you can)

i get the same thing with my 02 impreza rs. Heat shield. Previous owner had it tightened up, came back after a while. Gonna see if i cant squeeze some sealant into the cracks or something. Just in a few spots to stop the sound.
