how much is it..mines like that too...doesn't really hurt the car on anything i know at all it'll go into the engine then just burn off....turbo sucks up oil too hard or something and it goes to the air side (sorry my terminology ain that great) alot of us have that going on specially after running our cars hard

sounds like the air box wasn't sealed right. make sure the three tabs on the bottom of the air filter housing are in place, it takes more then just the upper clips to seal

what i named can only be a problem on a 2.5 rs.... not a turbo don't worry i always read at least the first post...

on the non turbo the air boxes are commonly left open and the pcv system will oil up.

8am Monday morning noob question, but why would a loose air filter box lead to oil in it (on a non-turbo)?

The air filter box can be a real bear to get closed properly, especially with an aftermarket filter. It takes me a while and a few re-checks before I'm satisfied it's closed.

akobs your 05 rs with it's mass-air intake is different so yeah wouldn't do anything except suck dirt

the older rs's have the filter near the tb, and the housing has all the pcv lines going to it. a leak pretty much disables the pcv system and it's ability to control oil consumption.

but it won't make it not start...sounds like you got bigger problems...
