07 wrx tr, 6000 mi, 7 month, stock

Occasionally the shift into 2nd will clunck. In the winter, a couple of times while the transmission was cold, I had to double clutch 1st->2nd.

Once woodward gets the Legacy gears in, Ill go for a spin in his car with him and see how it feels overall compared to my 07 WRX.

I have an 06 with 16K, the last 1K with VF39 - 289whp 308wtq - no problems at all so far, but I just bought an 05 STi transaxle & rear end to install anyway.

Of all the people who have blown a third gear, how many got it replaced under warranty? Or because you had mods, denied warranty?

have never ground a gear and my third just went out... gear just seemed to explode, i was driving normal and boom

replaced under warranty or no? if not what are you gunna do for a new transmission?

have an '06 wrx with 19k on the stock drivetrain, ran a 20g w/ EWG at 18-19 psi without any problems....

that being said, i took the precaution and threw in an '05 STi drivetrain so that i could sell all my stock stuff in once piece.... when i took out the stock clutch and flywheel, they looked like they were in really good shape... but then again i drive pretty smoothly and i've launched the car 3 times in the past year and half i've owned it lol

I'll take some pix and post them if you guys want

, I hope Bushur makes the custom gears soon. I think I will be the first to send out my tranny.

I have an 06 that has been at 306whp and 337wtq for close to 18,000 miles now and no problems as of yet. I don't launch too much because the clutch doesn't like it, but I certainly dont baby it.

You guys remember though also, there is probably lots of other people out there running good TQ and Power on a WRX tranmission, and sum seem to be holding fine, Its just we dont really hear much about them, We only hear the negatives about it when it does go out.

But yes its proven to break, its all on driving skill in a way, and how you treat your car.

but the horror stories of ppl who just drive normal and 3rd gear blows out is the worst to hear, because u never know if its going to happen to you :-\

i'd be glad to voice my input again... i love my car.... i have it setup for flat foot shifting and can launch on 8psi of boost (w/o even a true LC) open source ftw!!!

got it figured out on my own.... enginuity is still working on offical stuff but there are a few ways that you can do it w/ open source the way things currently are...i can say it felt nice when i finally figured it out... no "on boost off boost" clunk or jerk feel.. it's a great feeling

06' wrx 19k miles on the clock, been at stage 2 for 7k miles. The car has been launched several times but is never slammed 3rd and rarely into 2nd, still holding up :: knocking on wood, Crossing fingers, Praying at night:: It would really suck for it to break on regular driving.

I have a 2006 WRX TR that I purchased brand new in November '06 with almost 15K on the clock as of today, NO ISSUES.

No mods at all to the car, bone stock still.

occasionally, I drop from 4th to 3rd at high RPMs on the highway, but no issues...

I sent you a PM earlier today, as far as the shifting 2 to 4th or for that matter skipping gears.... its not bad for the car as long as you dont get out of the RPM range or bog the hell out of ur car.. like say going 2nd to 5th and sitting at 1500rpm in 5th gear and trying to accelerate hard.
