HELP, Turbo or SC

Oki people, I have come to you, my legacy people!

I have access to a complete Rimmer sidewinder package, Teins, and rear sway bar for $1500

or

a EJ22T complete, turbo, manifolds, and Xmember, ECU, for $1500-$2000

What would you do?

EJ22T. Much stronger than any current block that we get here and should easily provide the power that you want/need. Just make sure you have a tranny to back it up.

You have a hard choice.

Let's see...

Rimmer SC, lots of low end torque, needs lots of proper tuning to prevent engine meltdowns (Really!!) Upgraded fuel system, stand alone ECU.

End result is Lots of dough required to make this work properly.

EJ22T, seemingly complete package, but depending on the year and model of car it came from, you may only be getting the stock output of 160 HP 180 Lbs / ft torque.

To take advantage of this package (big HP), you'll need. Upgraded injectors, upgraded fuel system, piggy back or stand alone ECU, upgraded turbo.

Net result is: Lots of HP capability, which requires lots of backup tranny's.

hp was 160. torque at 180 ft/lb.

I'd do the turbo. This should accelerate slightly faster than standard sedan since we have 4.11 gears in manual transmissions... But, we still have to shift twice before 60.
