Question E-Town Folks - Suspension Install

Hey folks,

Chris (schlong8) and I got our AGX's in today and Chris also got his TEIN's and I've had my Whiteline's for awhile.

Chris and I are going to schedule to do the cars together. Are any of you that are contemplating this want to help out? Chris and I could always use an extra hand or two, and this way you could learn more about your car and/or if you want to tackle this install by yourself.

Chris and I will do it one of these weekends inside one of the heated bays at my work.

Anyone interested in joining us to lend a helping hand?

What weekend are you thinking of? I could see maybe making a day trip out of it. I could kill two birds with one stone, and might just learn something, too

Nothing confirmed yet since we're still waiting for the SS brake lines. I'm also considering getting the STi 4-pots, but it will depend on if I decide to cash in some stock options within the next week or two.

Might want to check out your local clubs regs for auto-x. I know in the calgary club, ANY modification to the braking system other than pads and linings instantly moves you from stock into Street Prepared category.

Ya' we got screwed by UPS!!!

Not only that, but Chris tells me that he had to pay at his end too. WTH is up with that?

As far as autocross is concerned, I will have the ALK installed which will put me out of stock anyways. I don't really care, I'll be autocrossing for fun and to learn. I already have a competitive enough business. When autocrossing starts, I'll be there to simply drive the crap out of my car

Cheers,
MB

PS We'll keep all intetrested parties up to date on when we install.

I am definitely interested in seeing and helping with these mod installations if you guys wouldn't mind. Let me know when you know more details. My home number is 437-4909 and work is 468-0874.

PS. I also got a bumper and grille for another old car I have delivered from the USA by UPS and got hosed for 2 brokerage fees (one each box) of $43 and $77 dollars. I paid both when I picked up the parcels but since then they have tried to collect the $77 fee again three times (even though I've spoken to them and they claim to have straightened it out. A word to the wise; hang on to your receipts from them.

Honestly, your best bet guys is to find someone with airtools. You'll have a hell of a time getting the rear strut bolts out with hand tools. They are in there good!

Anybody is better than UPS... I cant beleive how UPS is still actually in business.

And i meant lower strut bolts, not rear. The actual bolts on the tops of the mounts just snap when you try taking them off

Unhappy

Jack,

Chris was supposed to send them via DHL and I even specifically asked him to send it that way. For some reason he didn't and when they're holding your parts in hand and asking for $190 in brokerage fees for three packages, what the heck are you supposed to do?

TRi also overcharged me by US$75 based on the price we agreed on, but mistakes happen and he said he will credit it back to my CC. No harm, no foul.

However, I have to say, I'm a little miffed about all these extra costs.

I will seriously be reconsidering my thoughts on shipping from the US if this is the norm for shipping companies. I thought it was a duty free zone between US and Canada? Grrrr..

Free trade is a sick joke. There requirements for getting something through "duty free" are absolutely ridiculous. Whose idea was NAFTA, anyway? UPS must have bought and sold that one, because they seem to be the people benefitting. I've had to pay out close to $150 just to get all my stuff so far, and this hasn't even been close to more than $500 US yet. I dread to think what the light bar and lighting is gonna run me.
