Default No interior lights...need some help

I've got a 99 Outback and have been messing around with the fog lights to have them come on w/ the parking lights. With some trial & error i wired them the way i wanted, buttt now my interior lights i.e. gauge cluster, a/c controls, fog, cruise and rear defroster do not light up. I checked all the fuses, they all appear to be okay. I did see the wiring harness plugged into the illumination box under the steering column which also should be good. Any ideas, comments? Thanks guys!

Kevin

Check the relay and fuse panel under the hood for a blown fuse.

I'm betting your tail lights don't light up either.

You've got a short under the dash somewhere. Not sure about your year, but on mine there were two fuses. One under the dash, and one under the hood.

I wired everything back to stock, no short, no nothing. I kept blowing the 20 amp lighting fuse under the hood but i put a new in and its good. I am guessing that it's that illumination control box on the panel under the steering column, any thoughts/conformations? Thanks guys!

If the dash lights are the only thing left not working then I would say you are correct in thinking that the light control module has a problem.
