Eleanor and Al's Shift 'n Shinola Extravaganza Weekend

Starting with a Bar-B-Que at Continental Auto Group's Subaru location (4900 Old Seward Highway) the Eleanor and Al's Shift 'n' Shinola Weekend Extravaganza is on its way beginning Friday, August 3rd! Join the AAR SCCA at this social as you enjoy some fine food and camraderie with other motorsport enthusiasts. We'll have some surprises to make for a fun evening. Come and meet our Solo program sponsor, check out one of their facilities and meet some of their service personnel. You can also pre-register at this time for the very "full of fun" days ahead! We'll start at 5:30 and finish up the festivities by 8:30pm.

Al Mills presents the next exciting segment of the weekend with the Eleanor and Al Solo on Saturday the 4th (presently schedule for an Anchorage location). Pre-registration is highly encouraged (whether it be online at dlbracing.com, Region HQ - 243.2122 (9-7PM) or at the BBQ the night before) with a standard arrival time of 8am. Come compete or plan to work the Solo!

Sunday the 5th of August winds up this weekend of motorsport abundance with the Shift 'n' Shinola Road Rally from RallyMaster Kim Ciccone. Plan to be at registration by 8am (it's easier to pre-register!) for a brisk jaunt through our fair city only to find your way downtown to enjoy the annual Show 'n' Shine Car Show at the Delaney Parkstrip. It's fun to compete in events not to mention that participating as a checkpoint worker is a good time too. Perhaps you'll want to try it on?

Topping off all the fun is an opportunity for the members of SCCA to earn extra MVP points for the season. The Administrative Board of Directors has offered up 1500 points to any member who participates in ALL THREE portions of the weekend. You can do this by: Working or competing in both the Solo (8/4) and the Rally(8/5) as well as participating in the Show 'n' Shine by showing your car or volunteering to man the SCCA booth at a designated time during the day on Sunday. You must participate in all three events to receive the MVP points (Friday night's BBQ is not considered for these points).

Al Mills (243-8622/242-4952 cell) can be contacted regarding the Solo and by anyone who wants to volunteer for the Show 'n' Shine while Kim Ciccone (248.2493) is who you'll want to talk to about the Shift 'n' Shinola Road Rally. LOCATION CHANGE

The August 4th, Eleanor and Al solo will be at the Wasilla Multi-Use Sports Complex in Wasilla. The address is 1001 South Mack Drive, Wasilla. The Region was just informed this week that the site was available for our use on Aug 4th. Good location, good site and nice flat asphalt;that makes for a great combination for soloing. The event scheduled times will remain the same. On line registration is open at dlbracing.com. ha ha. you guys did well for your first time.

you improved just about every run, that's what it's all about. my dad had a blast and i think he was quite pleased at how well he ended up doing by the end, especially when he started off so far behind the pack.

won't make the autox event, but we'll be at the BBQ for a short time before heading out to another family one. I owe Ralph for use of his helmet, so if he can make Sat, he'll be representing Hi-Speed.

and yeah Henry, Jeff is right. your car had some weird throttle issues going on. I watched him completely miss a gate because the engine didn't idle down when he was trying to brake and turn... plowed right on through.
