Default PICK THE WEEKEND : Fall Dragon Meet 2007

In the 200+ posts in the other thread, there has been no finalization of the dates for the Fall Dragon Meet.

IF YOU ALREADY VOTED IN THE OTHER THREAD, VOTE AGAIN ... THIS IS THE THREAD TO FINALIZE THE DATES.

Here are the details on the 2 weekends we need to decide between ...

OCT 11-14
OCT 18-21 (the date talked about in the other thread)

OCT 11-14 INFO :
- Tapoco has 23 of their 24 rooms available (based on phone call at 5pm today)
- Microtel has about 35 rooms available, some smoking, some non (based on phone call at 5pm today)
- Fontana is "all booked up" by a "large group of cloggers"
- According to tailofthedragon.com, there is nothing on the calendar for that weekend, nor nothing I could find via Google.

OCT 18-21 INFO :
- Hotel reservations were available as of the times tehy were posted in the other thread
- There is a CarolinaHondas meet that weekend (SE Honda/Acura Enthusiasts)
- There is a "Rumble the Dragon Biker Rally" that weekend.
- There is a Corvette meet that weekend also.

I'm guessing traffic will busier because of cooler weather in October, but it sounds like the 11th-14th is more likely to be less busy.

I'm only making the poll for these 2 weekends, because these are the only 2 we have information about ... looking at tailofthedragon.com the 11th-14th seems to be the only weekend in Sept/Oct that doesn't have a major car/bike meet planned ... it sounds like a great weekend for Suby's

I'll go to either one, but I'd rather goto one w/ much less cars. I only rode a few turns of the Dragon last time b/c my car is/was stock, and my (still) lack of driver skill so I'd like to drive the whole thing no matter how slow I am.

11th - 14th here... That is IF I can make it up there this year... I am taking 21 credits of Chemistry and Environmental Law and policies in the fall so we'll have to see as the date comes closer... But I'm down for the 11th through the 14th if I can make it

~ Chris

EDIT: I'll DEFINITELY be bringing my Mountain Bike this time so anyone else who wants to hit some of the trails up there, LET ME KNOW and lets get a ride together!!!

The fall foliage will not be to colorful in that time, but if we have a passenger abord it gives them something to look at!

I've got a REALLY crappy Walmart mountain bike someone gave me. If that'll hold up to any trails I'll go with ya. I'm a mountain biking newb though, so I don't wanna slow ya down.

You can bring it if you like. I don't care what anyone rides, as long as they are wanting to go for the same reasons I am, a good work out on great trails ... I mainly want to ride up there because every time there is a college race up there I end up missing it. And I really want to se what the trails are like up there

11th FTW. A relaxing weekend sounds good to me without a whole bunch of other cars/bikers, etc...

this guy I knew on base went up there in his GF's Mini Cooper-S..lol but he said it was cool. I always wanted to check it out, but never got enough info on it. I wouldn't mind coming up for the drive. I should be Stage 2 by then.
