Default What has science done?! Baconsalt.

Have we come to this?

http://www.baconsalt.com/

Yes we have!

I stumbled across this the other day and was amazed that human beings had created such an evolved form of spices that would make everything taste like bacon. What evil form of alchemy is this?!

I was all ready to order a set online, and then realized that they actually sell it in WA, coincidentally at Pike Place Market, which is right here in Seattle. So I took a break from studying for my CISSP and went down there today and picked up some.

Review:

Holy crap it's like bacon in a bottle! Regular tastes like everyday bacon, not Bac-o-Bits style bacon. Peppered adds some spice, and the Hickory flavor tastes like BBQ sauce poured on bacon. I think regular and peppered are my favorites so far. I actually haven't put any on foods yet, just tasted them straight from the bottle, but I was definitely impressed. I'm going to make a steak or some grilled salmon with this tomorrow!

Seems interesting, but I wouldn't go for it. It says right on the bottle "artificially flavored" which makes me wonder what they put in there.

Be prepared for a TON of CIA and core priciples questions. In fact, I think there's a bit of bias on the core priciples.

Additionally, the exam has pretty much the same questions asked many different ways. I believe here they are looking for consistancy of answers.

I love bacon, and hold a pretty high standard when it comes to cooking it.

My stomach says "awesome!" but my mind screams "NO!".

I predict this will be very popular in Cincinnati/Southern Ohio where bacon is like a condiment.

According to their website, they only sell it in two stores, both in WA. One is near me, the other is in eastern WA.

They have an online purchase form so you can get it shipped to you, though.

I'm sure you'd be delicious with just a sprinkling of baconsalt.
