None. The one step colder thing really doesn't apply to a street car. If you are constantly in boost, it could make a difference. If not, you are just going to foul your plugs sooner.

have had 1 step colder for the past 5 years.
they have not fouled..

when you run more than stock boost it is a safety
precaution.

From my experience one step colder works OK on the EJ20x but not on the EJ257 unless raced. It really doesn't have much to do with the boost pressure but the ability to reach the spark plugs cleaning temperature. For street use going too cold can actually hurt performance since you don't spend much time at high rpm or load therefore it pulls too much heat out of the combustion process. Like I had mentioned though, one step colder works fine for the EJ20x but not so hot on the EJ257 used for street. Colder spark plugs were used in the past as a band-aid to reduce detonation but with proper engine management they aren't really necessary for factory turbocharged cars.

I used OEM heat range plugs in our Time Attack car but now I'm running 10:1 and have bumped up to 1 step colder.

Thanks,
Phil
