That's an '06 Big Hit I. Nothing fancy but a solid frame. A dual crown fork would likely change the geometry by raising the front and making the head tube angle more slack. That would be good for descending but not for climbing, if you were thinking of using it as an all-mountain bike.

That is not a bad bike, but it is not worth as much as yours. I would say if you could get $150-$250, it would be a nice trade.

aight, i sent the guy a message back saying i would trade if he could throw in like 300 bucks with it. cuz i bought my bike in august for retail. which seems pretty fair since im asking 500 more for my bike then he is for his. best thing is that he is in mass so it doesn't have to be shipped. if all goes well i'll have a bike that can handle highland better come spring.

That is definately fair if it all goes smooth. That will give you a nice frame to upgrade along the way, and some money to upgrade it with. That is what I did with my first big hit.

yea, guy changed his mind. apparently it was for his girlfriend, the big hit he had was hers and is a small frame but my medium frame( 2 inches bigger) is too big. i think the money made him back out. o well. transition bottle rockets are more of a dirt jumping bike than a freeride/DH bike?

Actually Bottle Rockets are freeride bikes. I know a lot of people who ride them everywhere, including Highland, and love 'em. I think they only have 5.5 inches of travel, but they are rugged and meant for big hits.

nope, i havn't checked MTBR.com yet. im browsing bustedspoke now and ridemonkey. im on PB, BS, and RM under the Name JBScooby. so then the bottle rocket can be upgraded with a beefier suspension if one wanted. maybe i will look more into them then cuz just from looking at them they look more DJ oriented

How about a Rocky Mountain Switch? I believe it is a 6'' & 6" Bike. a guy at my local shop is thinking of selling his. I took a quick peek at it tonight. Looks like it is in great shape.

Must be a 2005, in 2006 the Switch's switched to 7 inches of travel. They are sweet bikes and ride great, if the price is right I would say that is another option for ya.

I'm not shure of the year may be 6 or 7. I assumed 6 due to there being a RM7

He has had that listed for a while, but that is an awesome price. I love Boxxer Team's too, that is my second favorite DH fork.

Just an FYI about buying a used DH bike - don't forget that DH frame sizing is different from XC bikes. I'm 6'1" and ride size large XC bikes, but every DH bike I've owned (Karpiel Disco Volante, Norco Team DH, Specialized Demo 9, Turner DHR) has been a medium. Two of my friends ride size small DH frames and they are 5'9" and 5'10". Smaller frames are easier to throw around on technical trails.

I just talked to the guy with the Rocky Mountain Switch. He said he will let it go for 800. it only has a handful of rides on it.
