That is a nice bike. Old school bash guard and shock, but they'll work 'till you break 'em.

It all depends on the geometry. If it's got a short TT and low stand over height you might be ok, but I'm 6'1" and usually ride medium or M/L DH frames. It does have a sloping TT and low BB height.

If you're serious about the bike, ask around on some DH forums. Give your height and inseam and see what people who have ridden it think.

Best time to buy is off season. Once spring rolls around, there's more people looking and it's harder to find a killer deal. That's why summer is a good time to find deals on ski equipment.

in that case that seems like a nice ride. I like the single pivot. Easy maintainance. But I don't believe they make swingers anymore so it could be a hassle. The bright side is there still should be millions of parts kicking around

i've been putting in my miles on the trainer getting ready for the season. i'm starting to focus more on road racing( i'm really exicted) I am buying a set of reynolds carbon wheels!
If anyone needs a great shop for a spring tune up around the fitchburg area. I work at Gearworks, and we have some awesome mechanics who do a very thorough job.

the guy is refusing to budge on the price. i don't know if i should just put the extra 200 in or just pass it up. or i could put an extra 400 in and get a brand new 09 of rscycle that has a van r rear shock and 888 forks.

Just tell him that you are gonna get a brand new bike with better parts for $200 more than he is asking. If he doesn't want to sell it just say good luck and buy the new one. Used DH bikes can be a pain, and for only $200 it is well worth it for new. VanR is a decent shock too.

Nice, at least you have a couple months to find a bike. Was it local or are you shipping it?
