Default 03 WRX 2.0 VF34 1/4 Mile Time

Well, went to Island Dragway in Great Meadows NJ last Sunday and ran my car. Here's the mod list:

Perrin Up Pipe
Perrin Catless Divorced Down Pipe
Perrin Dual Tube Back Exhaust
STI Pinkers
VF34 turbo
Cobb AP V.1 on the OTS map for VF34
SPT Intake
Stock TMIC with the ol' bag o ice.

Thats about it for power adders - ill be getting protuned August 29th at Agile with a bigger TMIC so we'll see what my base was - then bigger TMIC and ProTune.

ok so there's what i got going on and I did this with much appreciation to the drivetrain (im not going to explode the tranny - just drive her like a WRX )

R/T - .582
60' - 1.917
330 - 5.602
1/8 - 8.673
MPH - 81.88
1000 - 11.247
1/4 - 13.471
MPH - 100.67

Slip is in .pdf to compare with the JDM king ITR that was next to me.

Now early in the day i did 14.4's with 2.4 sixties and a mph 99.5 - i think i could trap a little higher - just that balance of 3rd to 4th at the end.

Plus Island is pretty dang hard to stop as the corner comes up quick!

So VF34 guys there's a slip for you - but i think with a bigger intercooler, and a ProTune and a better driver a VF34 can get a 2.0 into the 12's -- what do you guys think?

yeah i was figuring it would trap like 102-103 -- hoping a good ProTune will help her out.

I need to go to the track sometime and get some slips. Using the AP my 1/4 mile was slow time but high trap, 2.9 60' and 14.1 at 107mph... The 60' time shows you how easy I was going on the tranny for the launch.

i would expect high-mid 12s and 106-110mph traps.. keep trying and tuning until you get there! thats the fun part I was trapping 105mph and running lower e.t.s with stock turbo and the bag of ice trick fwiw. stock ic is awesome for the bag of ice in the staging lanes because it has that little tray.. my turboxs tmic the bag just slides off lol

haha bag o ice ftw on a stock ej20 ic. a friend tells me though that your trap is always consistant - no matter the launch or anything - i believe he is wrong - am i right?

well.. if anything it will go higher (the trap speed) with a better 60' and 1/8th mile from my experience. you gained 1mph i see with a better launch

Since its been so hot lately i wouldnt doubt your car would trap would pick up on a nice autumn day. and since your running a basemap, i wouldnt be suprised if you pick up 2mph (guessing) or more after that and that TMIC. then on an nice cold day well.. youd do alot better than 100mph at that point!

No offense, but at Stage 2 on the stock TD04, I hit 13.3 @ 103, and I'm FAR from an expert. With some practice, and some quicker shifts, I'll bet you could pretty easily get down to a 13 flat

practice is definitley key - now that ive ran it a little more might be able to knock out some 12's. Car definitley has the power - driver just has to do better now!

How about tire pressure - talking with a friend last night and he was saying to increase tire pressure in an AWD car to get a little spin out of the tires- any thoughts?

I can defend him on that. My car with just a turbo back and an MBC hit 13.2 @102 with a 1.81 60'

I don't have pictures of my slips, but my mod list is simple.
Helix Uppipe
BPM 3" TT-Series TBE with twin-dump DP
Scotty's Cocktail (faster shifts FTW!)
Protune (road-tune through Enginuity)
18.5PSI tapering to 14 at Redline
I did a 13.7 @98, 13.5 @101, and 13.3 @103 in that order.
Temps were about 80-85 at 415ft.
I also use dry ice on the TMIC

With a protune you'll run low 13's all day and break into 12's on your better runs. That is very common with these 30,34,39 turbos. I have the same setup as you except a TXS TMIC and a VF30 and my highest trap is 104 and best ET is 12.96. That 12 second run was done on my second trip to the track ever.
