Default For the Experts ...tunning

Yo guys, I am a noob to the WRX tuning world. I currently have a 2004 Subaru WRX. Got it about a month ago. So far my following Modifications are: Invidia Up-Pipe, SPT Short Ram Intake, SPT Intake Heat Shield and an SPT Turbo Heat Shield. I am looking to do tuning as my next step. My Uncle Owns a High Performance Garage, and has alot of experience with tunning mustangs, corvettes, LS1s, GTOs, etc. But I am stuck. Because I don't know what to get tunning wise.

If i get an ACCESSPORT, I can hook my accessport up to my home pc, download Maps from COBB, and then i plug it into my ECU and upload them, right? Can my Uncle Modify those Maps?

I have also heard of something called the Street Tuner? Can my uncle use that to modify my ECU?

Can someone fill in the blanks here for me?

I am looking to get a catless downpipe and exhaust down the road.

Can the COBB Maps be edited upon download? If so, what is needed?

I read somewhere about how they can do custom maps for your car, the professionals at COBB, is that true as well?

If you get a accessport, get a used Version 1, then buy street tuner. You can then have your uncle tune your car.

Or buy this cable - http://www.tactrix.com
and download http://www.ecuflash.org to actually flash the stock ECU and http://www.enginuity.org to edit the ROM. Both programs are free.

Total- $91.00

Yeah just get eninguity, u can either spend 600-800 or 200 for a cable and wideband. Either way u get the same thing. BTW, street tuner is like another 100 or so AFTER u get the AP.....from a guy who is normally used to building V8 road race engines (thats with distributor and carb), 1000 bucks to change the timing and fuel is a tad bit ridiculous to me.....
