Default Holy Great Salt Lake! Salt Lake City Pro Solo 8/11-8/12

From the SCCA's website:
Quote:
The ProSolo crowd heads to the longest road course in North America, but they won’t be touching an inch of it. For the first time in program history, The Tire Rack SCCA ProSolo is at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah, just outside of Salt Lake City. Taking to the facility’s vast amounts of paddock space, the Wasatch Range sets a beautiful backdrop for the final single-course ProSolo of the season.

SCHEDULE
Friday, August 10
3:00 - 6:00 p.m. Practice Starts- Starts wil continue until tickets sold are used or 5:45 p.m., whichever comes first. Unused tickets can be returned for a refund. Get six (6) starts for $10 or one for $2.
5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Registration, Check-in, and Tech - Please bring your current driver's license, SCCA Membership card, and Solo Rulebook.

Saturday, August 11
7:00 - 8:00 am Late check-in and tech(Pre-registered entrants only).
8:15 am Worker meeting
9:00 am First car off

Sunday, August 12
7:45 am Worker check-in for Heat 1
8:00 am First car off
1:30 pm Challenge Competition (approx.)

Entry List: Salt Lake City Pro Solo Entry List

The entry list is very sparse for this event, and as of 9:00am on 8/1, currently sits at just 92 - looks like bump classes for quite a few folks. Hayter is in STU, Rios in STX, Brooks in STS while Wilson is in his HS impreza.

Best of luck folks!

I'm still thinking about flying out but I'd have to find a car to drive.

Late fees have been waived for the salt lake pro so there is none.

Hotels are a bit of an issue. I found the Villa Motel in Tooele, for cheap 40-50 I can't remember. I just hope they have air conditioning, it is going to be HOT!!!

I was going to say we're both about the same size, and extremely flexible.

I have a room with two beds Karen - you're welcome to the other one. I can't promise on the quality of the place though - PKer booked it and it's cheap!

I just booked a room about 10 min from the track, we *might* have some floor space, but I am expecting 4 people. There are two beds (last room with two beds), and only a few more single rooms.

Oquirrh Motor Inn
801-250-0118
ask for Ginger (she sounds hot)

$57/night with taxes, with breakfast and A/C, AAA-Rate.

I'll throw in $20 if you protest him if he's got anything but 100% stock exhaust and intake.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who would contribute to that.

After-all the clarification does say: "All emissions system hardware and software must be operationally functional as originally intended by the manufacturer. Tampering with emissions system software and/or hardware to create or cloak non-compliance is not permitted. Some examples of emissions system tampering are" blah-blah-blah and just point out that some other examples of emmissions systems tampering are intakes, cat-back exhausts and whatever else you can find on his car. If he's changed any of those then he has "created non-compliance" with the "intent of the manufacturer" exactly as the new rule, oops clarification, says he can no longer do.

"Throwing Paper" sounds like something you do in elementary school when you have a substitute teacher, or a paper airplane making contest.
It sounds like fun, too bad it's just the opposite.

I won't get a chance to do practice starts, and I hear that the LED lights for a single course pro are different than the regular ones.
How is it different? Timing? Color? I'm skeered!
