Default 2015 WRX CVT and Armrest Problem

2015 WRX Premium
CVT Transmission
18,000 miles

Hey guys I'm not sure where to post this so here i am. I just had to a few questions about 1. The CVT transmission and 2. the armrest

The first problem i am encountering is with the transmission every now and then when i accelerate the transmission feels like its slipping into neutral and revving up. Im not sure if its suppose to or what but any feedback or ways to solve this problem would help.

Secondly, i am having trouble with the center armrest. It won't close securely and if I'm driving or hit a bump it'll pop open and the dealership replaced it once and it was fine after that but now its back to the way it is. Idk if its in the mechanism in itself on the armrest of the locking hole on the plastic that is not catching the latch. If anyone has had any similar problems or knows a solution to this and the other problem please leave some feedback thanks!!

For the transmission issue there are two items.
1. Make sure the oil is not over filled
2. Relearn the CVT - http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...2&postcount=77
Chances are your dealer overfills your engine oil and doesn't know about performing a learn procedure on your CVT.

I have never had the armrest open up unexpectedly. Take it back in.

If CVT is slipping bring it to the dealer under warranty.

Armrest, have them adjust it when you are there. If it keeps happening, tell them to replace it, again.

Solved and Solved.

I have the JDM armrest extender that I put in but it uses the lid from the OEM one. The lid started popping open too and wouldn't stay shut. I thought it was the latch mechanism not catching also so I tried bending them with no luck. Then I removed the lid and noticed the hinge was rusty. I sprayed some silicon lubricant on it and now it works perfectly again.

Any updates on this issue since November?

The trans issue could be from programming. Did dealer flash it? I guess there is new code for it that came out recently. If it's not programming problem, then it's likely your torque converter. I have a feeling mine is shuddering when I put my car into gear and also when car 'downshifts' at WOT coming out of a corner at 45mph but only in S# it does this.

As for the arm rest, I have to lift the latching mechanism every time I close mine for it to properly secure so if you are just dropping or slamming it to latch, then that is your problem. Try lifting the locking tab when shutting and see if this solves your problem. If you already do this, then go see the dealer about it again.

My CVT has a hard time this winter, when it's really cold (-10 Celsius/14 Farenheit and lower). Once I'm on the road, the RPM stays stuck at 2000 rpm, whether I'm pressing the gas pedal or not, highway driving or residential. It takes at least a 25 minutes of driving before the revvs go back to normal.

I tried letting the engine warm up for 5 minutes or so, it didn't make any difference.

Now that we're in spring, and temperatures are above freezing point, everything is back to normal. I didn't touch anything.
