Default Anyone local know UTEC pretty well? GM BCS help needed PLEASE!! lol

Well, i installed the GM BCS today. All was fine. Set my gain to 30 and have my closed loop attributes around 149 then stepping down.

I took it for a test ride i noted i was getting 10-11 psi of boost.
So i go back to my garage and for ****s and giggles hit the launch control one time. It was hitting 16-17 psi? How is this possible? Am i missing something?
I thought if the BCS was only allowing me to get 11 psi why is it allowing 16-18 during the 2 step?

Any ideas? My first setting in range of 100 then stepping down. The boost went from 8-9psi to 10-11. So that tells me its working right?

Also, the first two columns i kept it "ECU" should i change those also? Im am boosting 2psi at 1800rpm in second? How low to to low?

Any help is greatly appreciated
Anthony

I've never used the Launch Control, so I don't know much about it.

And I can't find any other questions in your post - what else do you need to know? What other mods do you have? What boost mode are you using? (Open, closed, or PID?) If you're running closed loop, which I think you are based on your boost table values, try this:

Take the gain to 0
Cut your boost map values by 1/2 and make them all the lowest number in the map.
Start your logger and do a few runs. See what your boost is, and increase as needed.
BE CAREFUL: The gain set at zero means really fast spool, but also if you go too high you can really overshoot your boost target. There's nothing wrong with ECU as a target in the 10 & 20 columns - its more of a drivability thing at that point anyway.

Cool man thanks. Its running closed loop. I figured it out. The LC makes the BCS run on full cycle. My full boost was around 11-12 but with LC it was 16.5 or higher. That first LC on the new BCS freaked me out. I was like hold up i am not tuning **** else until i figure this out.

Again its running closed loop
But, i set my gain to 28. The boost properties at 266 at 100% then step down ect ect.
Sits pretty at 16.5 minimal spikes. But, i have 2psi of leeway for spikes anyway.
Thinking im just going to get greedy and boost 21psi until the turbo goes. I getting a 18g anyway.
PaulRex put it in stupid terms so i could understand.

Thanks for the help.
Anthony

20psi on the stocker is really nice - I highly recommend it.

But give the 0 gain thing a try - the spool difference is crazy!

What about spikes? I'll put it on 10. LOL

What all would i need to change?
Just the boost properties (BCS cycle)? Basically, all i would need to change is the boost map? No fuel mapping?

Im using the UTEC STG 2 map. Would i be able to run 20psi on that map?
I thought they were only tuned to 19psi or something?
Hey if i can i'll do it right now.
Turn that sucker up until it spews oil in the engine bay.

You really just need to do 2 things:

1- Set the gain to 0
2- Cut the numbers in your boost map by at least 1/2

I think the highest boost value I was running was 166 on my 20 psi map. You won't spike, but that's because the target values are so low.

I wouldn't try 20psi without a wideband, and not on the stock map.

Shouldn't you be rebuilding a transmission right now?
