Default Questions on 07 problem!!! EEEK!!!

OK so I have a 07 STi with a TBE and intake, DON'T WORRY I'M NOT DRIVING MY CAR!!! I had a deal fall thru with an AP V2, anyways.......When I get my accessport, will my car be ok to drive? I hopefull plan to get enough dough to be protuned by XX_Chris when he comes here in September, then I know my car will really be golden. Main question is, will my car be ok to drive after I setup the AP? Thanks alot guys!!!!

Your car will be fine to drive even without the ap. As long as you stay out of the boost its not going to fall apart on you. Even without a protune its fine you will run rich though.

If it was me running cobb OTS stage 2, I'd do some logs to make sure it was ok.

Hah! I have a friend in South Carolina, when he was in WOT, in 5th he hit a fuel cut and his check engine and cruise light kept flashing. All he did was disconnect the battery for awhile and then the lights went away.

I question daily why they still allow you to be a member of this board....

And all you guys that are waiting for AP....why not just go opensource? There's stage 2 tunes available that cost NOTHING! Especially waiting to get protuned by Chris...he is an avid openecu tuner. Save your $700 and buy something else to get the best out of your tune.

I actually talked to Chris about getting an open ecu tune in September, and he said forget about it. The 07 stock mapping is too buggy he said. He recommended getting the AP and then getting protuned down the road.

shouldn't this be in the tech forum?

and I got points for stepping up.... maybe if the corresponding posts I made after the funny were taken into consideration before 3 points were handed to me.... this would be an enjoyable place to come and hangout.

oh... at least the thread starter laughed AND got his answer... from the same person... simple questions CAN sometimes call for simple answer's

BAN AWAY!!!

I've been running AP Stg2 for 6k+ miles and no problems at all. The current 1.03 version map has excellent performance and drivability.

You will get a lot of advise to go open source but keep in mind, open source (openecu) doesn't include any kind of warranty or support. If it bricks your ECU you're hosed. If the AP bricks your ECU, Cobb is notorious for repairing or replacing them.

Cobb has also spent 100x the amount of time and money doing R&D then gabedude and the other openecu tuners. Nothing against gabedude.

I would also shop around a little. I got mine from Intergrated Performance for 630 shipped.
