Post Need some advice please.

I want to buy some rims from an i-club member. I don't like the idea of sending a bunch of money to someone I don't know, and he doesn't like the idea of sending 2 at a time. Anyone have any experience or ideas to keep us both happy? We don't live in the same city so meeting is out of the question.

Any help is very much appreciated.

Try PayPal. I've actually never used it. But it's what a lot of Ebay people use, and I think it would be easier to get your money back if they tried to screw you (not that anyone on iclub would do that).

After being shafted a couple of times, I was going to buy a expensive bumber from a guy. I thought about this as well. I did not think about Paypal as I cannot seem to get it to work for me. My thought was this: Send the money to a mutually trusted 3rd party. ( was thinking SubieGal) she verifys to the wheel guy that all the mulah is there. He sends the tires, she sends the money to the wheel guy. You better just hope that there is not a group buy for yellow subie stickers going on at the time! Just a thought. Goodluck.

Try drafting up a "contract" that says that you will send him the payment upon recieving the rims and approving of them, otherwise you will re-imburse him for shipping and return them. Then sign it and send it to him.

*edit:
You can easily tailor the contract to satisfy him (eg. notarization, copies of your driver's license, etc.). Work things out and remember that nothing comes free.
