Default The return of the RS SuperCharger?

In going through some of my many Subaru bookmarks, look at what I stumbled upon.

http://www.raptorsc.com.au/kits.php?id=20

note, they list development as restarted as of June '07, and available by Sept '07?

i didnt wanna hurt my brain by looking deeper into the website but is that basically one of those things in the ads that say "supercharge any car!" or "get 80% more power in 10 minutes" when its really just a electrical pussywatt fan

Ethanol is much easier to support from a techie standpoint. I'm much much happier with how ethanol development has gone than I ever was with blowers. There's less investment involved and no one is ripping anyone off or at least feels that way.

I still think blowers on these cars have some kind of curse .

Matt, you're still an ass hole. I don't care what you do with that old kit.

I'm glad I got away from the whole thing, frankly. If it doesn't throw belts, it blows motors from too much timing. If you include everything, customers want to cut corners that you just can't. Sink $2500 into a single kit of your own money and some douchebag cancels the check when you ship him one. People wanna talk **** about shops ripping you off when customers do the same ****ing thing? No thanks.

Open sourcing ethanol development was at least a decision I can sleep with at night.

hmmm. I wasn't hiding a couple months ago when I walked right into Jonny's shop. If he's got a bone to pick, he could have talked to me face to face right then and there. And if you've got a bone to pick, you've got my number. Call me. I will meet you anywhere in the Denver Metro area for coffee and a chat. Somewhere along the line, you decided that I really wronged you and yours and I would be more than willing to make it right, if the wrong isn't just imaginary, like a supercharger kit for the RS...

Being called a mama's boy wannabe by an alcoholic coke freak doesn't really hurt my feelings. Nobody's innocent. Knock off that highroad bull****.

The car is safely stashed away from you and every other douchebag on the failboat. BTW, we still have video of all your modded STI's and EVO's running 16's .

There it stands. You accuse me of hiding, I offer to meet you and you return with a barrage of insults that have nothing to do with me. When have I ever "built" an STi or Evo? I have never even set foot on Bandi's property. You must have me confused with someone who wants to be a mad tite tooner. I think you need to go back and take some more mirrored photos of your lardarse self and figure out who that might be...

Thank you. The sole point of my original post and link was "those who live in glass houses should not throw stones". I guess I hit on a sensitive subject; but then if you can't take it, don't dish it out. If these guys down under say that they are going to build this and take it to market, more power to them. Some people may be skeptical, but it was just too ironic that someone involved with the last failed effort to make a production supercharger kit for the Ej25 was talking trash. That's all I was saying...

**** you, Matt. You and your little douchebag friends that can't turn their own wrenches weren't worth a 30k loan to produce them. But you can talk trash on the internet and hire lawyers so you feel validated in whatever complaints you want to make about everyone else instead of looking in the damn mirror. It's easy to call a lawyer and bitch on the internet but INSTRUCTIONS are difficult? Plates and bolts are hard? The smart ones that built things themselves and didn't wait on me, I was actually glad to help. My money for the blower systems turned into my college fund. Bitch all you want about it. I don't care.

Stones? Glass houses? I walked away from this crap for several damn good reasons.

Let's say I went into production. I've just spent 30k on inventory and countless hours in the shop and on the design table to make a good solid product.

Someone buys a kit and just can't manage to bolt it onto their car, despite being given pages of directions, BIG pictures, and several hours on the phone worth of tech support. You still get a little wiring wrong. Maybe you(figuratively...whoever it is.) forget to change to colder plugs or fill the blower full of oil. Suddenly, a lawyer is on the phone with me citing a defective product, false advertising, or whatever statute he thinks a judge will go for to get "losses and damages" back while making a cut off your complaining and my pocketbook. Maybe it makes it to court, maybe it doesn't. Whether you win or lose, you go on the internet talking a bunch of trash, twisting facts, and crying to your modem connection about how you got screwed and we suck. The internet meme's jump on your side typing away and suddenly it's a gangbang of global proportions from people that aren't even my customers.

Overnight I just went from being a shop-guy and wrenchaholic to being a custodian to your keyboard puke. That's just one of a myraid of scenarios that I hope Raptor considers before he releases this to the public. Don't forget copycats, either! You can patent a product but that is only good in the country you made it in. Someone enterprising enough can still get it duplicated offshore. A "loyal" customer trying to save some cash or make money off of you can take your product to someone else and have it made.

Perhaps a certain vendor on this very board remembers having someone else's kit sent back to him in little pieces when he tried to have it copied. That never got around here, though.

Supporting some of you is complete hell compared to simply turning wrenches on a car or simply drawing up new parts. Yet somehow, someway, something is my fault and the internet is your friend when it comes to bitching up a storm. IT IS NOT WORTH IT! How many shops have closed and lives have been ruined trying to do this and work with some of you people? I love my family more and so do the others I proudly still work with and protect from you. I will not sacrifice my family or the time I spend with them for the heartache of trying to make everyone else happy through material and egotistical means.

I turn wrenches on my own car now and I work on friend's cars. My shops (very ****ing plural), my resources, and my developments are off limits to the public now for a damn good reason. I say what I want on my terms and if you don't like, take your money somewhere else. I will not build an expensive toy with my own money and sell it to someone who is going to break it. It is not going to happen. Raptor can have all of it. I do not care. I moved on to other things and couldn't be happier. I'm still around. You also don't know what's up my sleeve, or anyone else's. It's going to stay that way for a while longer.

Alternative fuels, organic chemistry, CAD, programming, turning wrenches in my own garage with the door closed and the phone off...I couldn't be happier. I gave everyone a raw, bleeding look how production, tuning, development, refinement, and production can go. I figured you needed to see that. I made some friends because of it. Real ones. No money was exchanged to make them, either. I'm happy driving my little beater wagon around town and working a full time job. Any visions or dreams that any of you might have about "bling", money, and hero worship are all just that...empty visions.

Sorry to hi-jack the thread.

Raptor, good luck. Seriously, it's all yours. Take it. Sorry to muddy the waters, but you've got more work cut out for you than building and selling kits.

Matt, **** you. Twice.

I love my family and my friends. I don't mind looking like an ******* here right now. The people who matter most know exactly how I feel, why, and why we have in common what we do.

That part about me running and owning a 7 figure a year vintage Porsche shop slipped your mind eh? And I haven't paid or had another mechanic work on one of my cars (6 of them right now) since 2001. Regardless, you really don't sound very happy. But, I am just saying...

The part where you're still a slave to a shortsided ******* owner with ADD that you have to keep appeased so he gives you the business when he retires.

When you're working side by side with other people or even competing with them at the track, internet crap kinda melts away. It just doesn't matter there. You miss a lot by never setting foot on a track. It probably does the best job of putting people in their best context because you see how they actually work or don't. "Proving" something at a track doesn't necessarily mean whipping everyone else. Testing yourself is the hardest thing to do because it requires the most honesty.

A few of you Pirate Pukes tried to talk some crap while I was in the entrance lanes. I was alone and blew you off. Who's really the gangbanger cockwipe when you need a gang of friends to back you up against one guy or try and outnumber another group you don't like? You'd accept me because of my knowledge about E85 and can't take a m00b joke and my friends are all ********? My friends think my m00bs are funny. We laugh at a lot of things. We don't have to appease any of you.

Rancid, **** you too. You go out of your way to instigate crap with people you don't even know.

It degenerated rather quickly didn't it? I kinda wonder what Raptor might say when he finds it.

"Oh boy! Word of mouth advertising!...wait...WTF?"
