Default Buying Tactrix's cable today. What else do i need?

I am going open source today with the purchase of a tactrix cable.

Few questions:

1. Is it a necessity to have a wide band 02/other peripherals?

2. How much power am I losing by not having an uppipe (I have a intake/downpipe)?

can't wait to tune . . .

You don't want to tune without wide band sensor feedback preferably in a log instead of just watching a gauge.

An EGT gauge is very useful in getting the timing right.

Some sort of knock sensor monitoring I would say is a must. Some tune reaing the stock sensor, usually logging off the ECU. Some use something like a TXS Knocklite. And some wear headphones linked to a separate knock sensor as a microphone and listen to all the engine's noises including knock. Some people do all three. And some do none of the above, but at their own peril (or at least their engine's).

post #2 said it well, but I can't resist...
...drat, no analogies are coming to mind... you know overdrafts? over-limit fees? a real pain, right...?

well, tuning w/o at LEAST a wide-band is kinda like that. trying to pay for stuff w/o knowing the available credit. with sound effects (boom!)

So how much cash are we talking now, btwn the tactrix, knocksensor, wide band. If hp per dollar is my goal, should i just get a cobb access port.
