Are you using a catch can or an air/oil separator?

I am also at 1700 miles on a built motor... oil changed at 0 (after initial cam break-in and some idle tuning), 300, 600, 900, 1200, 1500... no oil loss at all... but I am using an air/oil separator.

I don't know if this is your problem or not, but you have to check the oil under exactly the same conditons, otherwise all bets are off. IMO, you get the most accurate reads when it's stone cold, first thing before you fire up for the day. With 1.7K already on the motor, it should be sealing up pretty good by now - my block settled right down to a qt/2000 for street use right about your mileage. I do use more in the winter though (all cold start burn).

yeah i checked it in the morning when it was cold, im switching to mobil 1 20w 50 a much thicker oil which will be able to handle the temps and keep oil pressure higher....i still am stumped though, im blaiming the oil consumption on the turbo as of now, b/c i don't see why it dropped, its buging me out
