Cold Start Issues
My idle is pretty smooth above 70 or 80C but at initial startup it always stalls unless I keep my foot on the gas.
It will rev to 1600 and then immediately drop off and stall out. I've added a little bit to the post start enrichment tables and it has started to help. Is there another adjustment I should be looking at? Thanks, Eric

Post start effects the first 60 seconds so continue to increase it. If it stays running and then stalls after 60 seconds or the idle starts to hunt, increase the coolant temp trim.

Okay...I bumped up the post start enrichment figures a good amount up to 50c, particularly in the 30 and 40c cells.
This has made a big difference, although I do appear to get some oscillation in the idle for a little bit. Should I take the proportional down a hair? |

Rich Idling
I've been able to get my car to primarily idle in the high 13s and low 14s.
When the radiator fan is on or the in cabin fan is on the car idles consistently in the low 14s. When either of these shuts off the idle richens up sometimes dipping into the high 11s for a second or two. I bumped up the rpm idle from 928 to 944 and the integral up a hair as well as the step up. The car becomes pretty sensitive to stalling out if I start removing fuel. I guess I need to be pretty specific about which idle sites I'm playing with. Any thoughts? Thanks, Eric |

Also look at Idle Stepper motor settings... u need the motor to be going at the right amount to catch the idle easily as it falls. |

The 2002-2005 WRX is a little different and doesn't use a stepper ISC valve so the stepper settings are not used but instead the minimum ISC duty***37; can be adjusted. The pre 2004 RS platform in the US uses the stepper ISC valve.
